The only problem, politicians turn on and off this longterm process which causes great problems such as does an oil company even risk political change of mind before wells completion and oil flowing?

“One of those restrictions is to “de-carbonize” the oil before it’s shipped out thru a pipeline”

If you “de-carbonize” the crude oil you end up with ammonia. That won’t work in petroleum refineries. Instead of gasoline you end up with hydrogen.

That will not work in my car.

I’ve noticed some Democrat activists here predicting a possible Labour landslide

Really? From what I've seen it seems more likely to be a possible landslide against Labour.

“politicians turn on and off this longterm process”

That is why successful large corporations have learned how to deal with the problem.

Bribing a politician is just paying rent.

Blackmailing a politician is a lifetime insurance policy on a property you own.

Unfortunately what will mitigate the reaction against Labor is the fact the “UK right” is split 3 ways - Reform, Restore & Conservative. Then there’s the up to 5% that votes for some flavor of “Barking Mad Looney” Party. I’ve counted as many as 8 political parties in the UK. Remember Labor got elected the last time with about 36% of the total vote. The Starmer government was very much a minority in voting numbers government. If the “UK Right” is not careful it will happen again.

Does anyone here on FR understand the “beef” Farage and Lowe have with each other? I don’t! Is it completely personal? Each wants to be the one and only “Big Fish” in the UK political pond?

That’s “right”, multiple parties and the quirks of first past the post voting and 650 districts means weird outcomes

You can win with a third of the vote if its in certain areas.

What I will also say is it cuts both ways. Many traditional Labourites will vote for Reform as they’re fed up on issues like immigration

They’re getting hammered in Scotland - one of their heartlands - and by oil and gas workers over it.

Trump has good senses. Don’t forget he has a nice resort in Scotland so has his finger on the pulse

I hope for UK’s sake you’re right!

Another “minority “ win by Labor (actually Fabian Society!) will embolden our Left. We don’t need that!

This is only being done for the ‘new’ British. The UK government only exists for the invading Muslims and Africans. They don’t give a damn for the natives.
