Caitlin Clark Rewrites WNBA History With 45-Point Masterpiece for Indiana Fever (First 40-10 Game in League)

Caitlin Clark delivered the best performance of her WNBA career Friday night, scoring a franchise-record 45 points and adding 10 assists to become the first player in league history to record a 40-point, 10-assist game.

Caitlin Clark has already built a highlight reel that most players could only dream about, but Friday night may have been the finest performance of her WNBA career. Every time the Indiana Fever needed a big basket, Clark seemed to have the answer.

She buried deep three-pointers, attacked the rim, knocked down free throws and continued to create easy looks for her teammates. By the time the final horn sounded on Indiana’s 110-107 win over the Seattle Storm, Clark had accomplished something no player in league history had ever done.

It wasn’t just another big scoring night or another double-double. It was a performance that rewrote the WNBA record book while giving Fever fans another unforgettable memory during what is becoming a remarkable career.

Caitlin Clark Makes WNBA History

Clark finished with a franchise-record 45 points and 10 assists, becoming the first player in WNBA history to record at least 40 points and 10 assists in the same game.

The Fever star shot 11-for-18 from the field, made 6 of her 10 three-point attempts and went an incredible 17-for-19 from the free-throw line. She also added four steals and two blocked shots while playing just under 30 minutes.

As soon as the milestone became official, the Fever celebrated on social media.

“FIRST 40-POINT & 10-ASSIST GAME IN WNBA HISTORY,” the team posted. “CAITLIN. CLARK. IS. HER.”

The performance also established a new franchise single-game scoring record, adding another accomplishment to Clark’s growing list of historic achievements.

Seattle shot nearly 57 percent from the floor and was led by Dominique Malonga, who finished with 28 points and 14 rebounds. Flau’jae Johnson and Awa Fam each scored 16 points, while Natisha Hiedeman and Jade Melbourne chipped in 15 apiece.

The Storm refused to go away, but Clark consistently answered every run.

Kelsey Mitchell provided the perfect complement with 30 points, giving Indiana one of the most explosive backcourt performances the WNBA has seen this season.

Monique Billings added 16 points and five rebounds, while rookie Makayla Timpson contributed eight points and nine boards as the Fever held on for the three-point victory.

Another Reminder of Why Clark Is One of the League’s Biggest Stars

Clark has produced plenty of signature moments since entering the WNBA, but this one belongs near the top of the list.

She already owns the league’s single-game assists record after handing out 19 assists during her rookie season. Now she can add another historic first to her résumé.

The performance was a reminder that Clark isn’t simply one of the league’s best shooters or passers. She has the rare ability to completely control a game in multiple ways, whether she’s scoring from well beyond the arc or setting up teammates with pinpoint passes.

Friday night, she did both at a level the WNBA had never seen before.

Forty-five points.

Ten assists.

A franchise scoring record.

The first 40-point, 10-assist game in league history.

For Caitlin Clark, it was another historic night. For the rest of the WNBA, it was another reminder that whenever she’s on the floor, history is never far behind.

“ And to think that some people said she would wimp out.”

In 30 minutes. That’s 62.5% playing time. That is what is incredible about this achievement.

She scored 45 points. Why do they keep saying 40 points?

The BBs damaged their product. I lost all interest in watching their sport because of their “ghetto” behavior.

The Storm was a formidable opponent. Young and fast, efficient.
I was glad to see CC find her rhythm. Kelsey Mitchell had 17 points in the first quarter. Boston was out.
Fever needs better defense. Raven was drafted for her D skills but has yet to develope.

Even more of a reason for the hideous ‘quaneeshas’ in the wnba to be triggered by their envy and hateful racism for Clark and Cunningham, who looked absolutely stunning at the recent UFC event where she was a “guest ring card girl”.
