It is impossible to avoid Indian doctors. 4/5 cancer specialists are Indians at cancer clinic in my town. The Indian oncologist assigned to my cancer patient wife was good. He is the reason she lived 6 years after diagnosed with stage-4 cancer of lungs which had spread to brain, lymph nodes and bones. We have nothing bad to say about him.
Glad it worked out for your wife. UBU. I shall avoid them (and ALL doctors not trained in the US medical academy), especially for the fake credentials reason expressed in the OP. And because of where I live, I am able to.
