Liberal author and famed Maine writer Stephen King is rallying behind embattled Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Graham Platner on Monday amid growing calls for him to drop out of the race.
The political landscape was rocked Monday after a sexual assault allegation surfaced against Platner. Jenny Racicot, one of Platner's exes, claimed to Politico he drunkenly entered her home in 2021 and raped her. Platner denied the accusations.
While Platner's future in the Maine Senate race hangs in the balance, the iconic creator of "The Shining" and "It" is hoping he doesn't throw in the towel.
"Graham Platner may drop out. (I hope he doesn't, but.) Meanwhile, the Abuser in Chief just keeps on keepin' on," King wrote on X. The author, an outspoken Trump critic, was alluding to the various sexual misconduct allegations leveled against the president, which he has long denied.

Agreed. I want to see Maine Dems printing bumper stickers that say “Vote for the rapist - it’s important.”

Even Hiawatha Warren who was a strong supporter of Platner—saying “He is my kind of man”— has turned on him, after spending lots of political Wampum on him.

I’m with you Herr King. I would not be surprised if he stays in. He is a greedy scumbag that does not strike me a being willing to “take one for the team.”

Is that some law?
Even if it is, they will finesse the interpretation for the Dems if necessary.
Laws are for the little people, and Republicans.

‘ Laws are for the little people, and Republicans.’
In a perfect world, Hillary, Xiden and Obeyme would all be in federal prison along with the Nazi war criminal George Soros.
