The algae in the Reflecting Pool has been almost completely removed despite liberal activists’ best efforts to impede the removal of algae and destroy the pool’s renovations.
Greenwater Services contracted in April by the Department of the Interior for the “procurement and installation of a Nano Bubble Filtration System designed to replace the existing, failing filtration infrastructure at the Reflecting Pool.”
The company has come under fire from left-wing media outlets, who claim a conflict of interest because a part-owner of the company is a GOP donor, and that the company has a lack of expertise in filtration systems.
During a recent appearance on CNN, Democratic strategist Ameshia Cross clashed with Scott Jennings over the project. Cross went off, attacking Trump over the algae in the stagnant Reflecting Pool and the choice of contractor, claiming that Trump “flushed our money down the drain.”
“This guy chose someone who didn’t even have a background in it, in the beautification he sought to begin with,” Cross said, crediting Trump for the Department of the Interior’s choice to hire Greenwater Services. “This is somebody who he knew personally because of his Mar-a-Lago connections, but not someone who was able to do exactly what anybody else– I worked at the EPA, knew that algae was going to come. You don’t necessarily have to be a science-minded person to know what was going to happen.”
The company, she said, is using "cutting-edge" ozone treatment technology, backed by research from Ohio State University and environmental journals, to pump ozone (O₃) "nano bubbles" throughout the water. "Those go throughout the whole water column, and as they burst, which is natural, it kills the algae, and then the sediment floats to the bottom, so it leaves behind crystal clear water with only oxygen as the byproduct," Kramer said.

Before dirt was created, ozone was something they used in laundromat dryers to make fabric smell fresh and clean. It was stopped years later when the hole in the ozone later became damaged. That’s also when the propellant in spray cans was changed and when air conditioning fluids were changed to those that didn’t work as well.
It’s funny how sometimes the old ways were better. Is ultraviolet no longer effective in pond filters?

Ozone water treatment has been around for DECADES! There is nothing CUTING EDGE about it.
Ozone "nano bubbles" is also BS. Ozone kill Algae an Bacteria because it is Corrosive. It reacts with the cell walls and the guts of the cell spill out.
Anyone with a swimming pool does the same thing with Chlorine.
By the way Ozone will bleach your hair just like chlorine.
Good thing or bad thing, ozone will not linger in the water it will break down in the presence of ultra-violet light which is out there in the sunlight.

Amazon is selling a lot of UV filters. My guess is ozone is either more efficient for large volumes or it’s cheaper.

I breathe O2. I absorb it into my body and it allows me to live. If I breathe too much carbon monoxide (O1 if you will) I will die. I am not sure but I think I will also die if I breathe too much ozone (O3). So it's O2 for me or else I'm in trouble.
I imagine that the same is somewhat true for algae.
If the article had basically said "Ozone kills algae" I would have accepted that immediately. But the article didn't say that. The article said "nano bubbles burst and this kills the algae".
That just seems like a stupid thing to say. And it wasn't an ignorant journalist saying it. This was the "expert" from the EPA. At the very least, I think the concept was poorly explained with too much emphasis on bubbles and not enough emphasis on the effects of ozone. Would you agree with that?
Maybe she is an expert in something but it is not in water treatment. And probably not science. She was probably a legislative liaison to congress.

Bursting bubbles has nothing to do with how ozone works. The ozone dissolves in water just like chlorine would and kills the Algae by reacting with it cell membrane. It would do the same thing with the cells of your lungs if you were to inhale Ozone.

That’s also the first thing I thought.
They will attempt to to disrupt the ceremonies. Some folks will get hurt. We can never have anything nice. Straight Jackets and Haldol shots for the lot of them.
I used an ozone system when I worked in a dialysis clinic to disinfect the water lines. It worked but it was hard to maintain a high enough concentration.
We went back to chlorine which always works.
I now maintain pools.
Why not a salt chlorination system? They work very well.
Salt Chlorination for my plant would not work because we needed high purity water.
I never really looked into salt chlorination so don’t know much about it.
What we used specifically for bio-control was Sodium Hypo-chlorite. Nasty stuff.
