Rosie O'Donnell will join a roster of guest hosts set to replace Jimmy Kimmel for the summer, the late night host has revealed.
Kimmel segued to the 'special treat for our commander in chief' with a nod to his September suspension during his Thursday monologue.
'I will be taking the next two months off, this time voluntarily,' Kimmel said, before showing off 'a potent group of' guests.
'Tiffany Haddish, Colman Domingo, Ike Barinholtz, Anthony Anderson, Jelly Roll,' he listed.
'And... I asked one of [Donald Trump's] all-time favorites - Rosie O’Donnell - to be here to keep the hits coming.'
The revelation drew uproarious applause.
'You're welcome,' Kimmel told the LA crowd.
O'Donnell, 64, and Trump, 80, have been embroiled in a fierce feud for the past 20 years.
Kimmel - an outspoken Trump critic - cracked: 'All I ask in return, Mr. President, is that you don’t do anything stupid while I’m gone.'
Kimmel, 58, typically takes off two months every summer. He adopted the practice during the pandemic.
Thursday's episode was his last before it begins.

No one wants to hear that voice on late night
I’m sure Kimmel remembers. I’m also sure that what he looks for in a guest host is someone who will not show him up. Someone who will never get the network to thinking Boy, this guest host is a breath of fresh air. Maybe we should turn the show over to him/her/xze permanently, and tell Kimmel to get lost.
And in Rosie, Kimmel has found the perfect sub. Someone who will never get the network to thinking.🤔
I can imagine the guests she will pick. I predict the lowest ratings ever. I don’t think she has a big following...could be wrong.
she is going to get the worse ratings imaginable. her audience has moved on from her in the last 20 years along with her revealing herself to be just a vile person...you will be able to tell where we are with woke crap by how she is going to fail. over the last 15 years to much about her has been revealed showing her to be a real nasty person.
It would be nice if the audience was filled with folks like you and me....and booed until she walked off.
to much effort in showing up. I prefer to just let her slip away from culture relevancy.
Kimmel costs ABC 10’s of millions in losses for years just like Colbert and they pay him millions to keep doing this and give him 2 months off for vacation and he gets to bring on hateful people like Rosie O’Donnell to take his place....
ABC must be getting outside money like from ActBlue type groups using taxpayer money to finance this loser show and others like ‘The View’.
