New York City was a picture of pandemonium on Saturday night as the Knicks' NBA Championship celebrations descended into bloody violence and a teenager was shot.
Across the city, riot police were deployed to quell the madness and videos showed the party turning ugly in Times Square as fans literally ripped apart a school bus while the driver begged them to stop.
At around 2am, a 17-year-old boy was shot in the left foot at 42nd St and Broadway, according to details from the NYPD. He was taken to Bellevue Hospital in a stable condition.
In Brooklyn, meanwhile, a 44-year-old man was fatally shot and killed near Prospect Park at 11:40pm - just minutes after the Knicks had won - but it is unclear if that was related to the Knicks' celebrations.
Officers responded to a 911 call outside 101 Lincoln Road, where they found Emanuel Spencer with multiple gunshot wounds. He was rushed to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead. No arrests have been made.
In Midtown Manhattan, meanwhile, videos showed cops fighting with revelers as thousands of the Big Apple's raucous citizens invaded the streets to celebrate the Knicks' first NBA Championship in 53 years.

YAY!!!!!
A Billionaire and his Millionaire employee’s won a basketball game!!
Let’s Burn down our city in celebration!!!
“Gotta be pretty bad when you get fatally shot, and then killed. “
LOL I’ve never heard of that before! “fatally shot, and then killed”
Soccer and WNBA get top billing in media.
Burn baby, burn. Should have handed out bottle of gasoline for a real celebration.
For good reason -- Neither the Bills nor Sabres have been in a championship game this century. (The bills last Superbowl appearance -- a loss -- was in 1994 and the Sabres last Stanley Cup finals -- a loss -- was in 1999.
LOL, Detroit doesn’t have to worry.
They don’t have to worry if the Red Wings win The Stanley Cup.
And the last Detroit titles were the Pistons in 2004, and the Tigers in 1984.
And we all know about the Lions.
I’m not sure if it is going to be a day for a bad day when the 87% run out of patience with the 13%.
it will be a great day ...
An exaggeration— it was localized to a part of Manhattan. Sad to say that people won’t protest chaos until it reaches everyone. By then, it’s too late to control.
Sounds like you had a good experience. I don’t think many people realize what an exhausting day it is to attend a Trump rally. Waiting in a line for hours until the gates open, getting through security, standing in the food line and cheering through the show. It’s a long day.
The two best rallies I attended were at the North Charleston Convention center which had inside seating. The most fun but exhausting one was at fair grounds in Perry GA. Hot day, no seating. Great crowd energy. Met two girls from Fla. The rally at Florence SC was a shear act of determination to give Trump a big attendance figure. It was freezing cold and the wind was blowing.
Oh, I should have been more specific. The Trump rallies I went to were organized by the local Republican Party. Trump himself was not there. They were held in small towns. Maybe 200 people attended each one.
Lots of nice people wearing MAGA gear. My only complaint is that the country music they played was all modern stuff. Not a single Johnny Cash or Patsy Cline song!
As you noted, actual Trump rallies have limited parking space and long lines.
I’m getting too old for all of that.
Feral animals.
“ I bet you’ll be watching the soccer games”
No, my kids switched to track. Haven’t seen a soccer game since.
I have been to the US Open a couple of times because my partners had a box and we share a company plane.
Couple of cowboys games for the same reason.
The cheerleaders came up before the game and signed stuff. That was nice.
I was joking. You didn’t seem like soccer guy. Maybe PRCA.
I’ve done my share of rodeo, yes.
Mainly roper. Wife was a barrel racer, lol.
That’s not chaos. That is what the citizens voted for. Good on them. Better than Sliwa or whomever.
