Pritzker dodged, weaved, and then — in a moment of breathtaking gall — pointed the finger at Texas governor Greg Abbott
Illinois Democratic Gov. JB Pritzker found himself in a tight spot this week when a television reporter asked the obvious question: Why won’t you spend a dime to keep the Chicago Bears in Illinois, but you’ve proudly dropped billions on illegal immigrants?
Pritzker’s answer? Blame Texas.
In a squirm-worthy exchange, the governor — who’s been quietly eyeing a 2028 presidential run — was pressed on his refusal to use taxpayer funds to help the Bears stay in Chicago. The team announced in May that it had “exhausted every opportunity” to remain in the city, with its only remaining options being suburban Arlington Heights or Hammond, Indiana — potentially ending a 100-year legacy in Chicago.

Democrats always blame Republicans,
Nothing stopping Prickster from writing a big check for Hyatt Stadium
Why? Because Chicago is a up and coming democrat third world hellhole.
Rahm Emanuel is not popular on FR ... to put it mildly ... but it is worth remembering that when he became mayor of Chicago, he grabbed the third rail and tried to rein in public employee pensions.
For the simple reason that the pensions were (and are) bankrupting Chicago and Illinois, and a failure to deal with them will lock Chicago and Illinois in a doom loop.
He of course got nowhere, since the public employee unions basically run Illinois. As they do in California. They even ramrodded through a constitutional amendment providing that the public employee pensions were untouchable.
All of this is concentrated in Chicago and Springfield. The rest of the state knows that the cancer on the lake is killing the state. Illinois is now run by a looters' mafia. Everyone who can should get out while they can. The Bears aren't the first, nor will they be the last. Perhaps they are iconic enough to wake more people up.
The land in Arlington Hts has been purchased and cleared, yet here we are.
The Bears are moving to Texas???
He’s still Fat Bastard to me...
It’s always someone else’s fault.
:: Money is not the issue here. ::
The financial issue is whether that \gigantic\ payroll will move to another State with the Bears?
Another State with a very different tax structure.
And will that move cause other Chicago professional teams — that utilize the same mobbed-up bank — to consider changing locations also and take their gigantic payrolls with them.
Trust fund baby who’s never been told “no”.
Yeah, he's not 100 pounds over weight only 50 pounds over weight.
He is still a fat slob, he is just not an obese slob, and if he gets down to 150 pounds, he will be a slim slob.
There is no sense in polishing a turd, it will still stink.
