That statement will just confuse people. The first statement will be interpreted by people as meaning that God is not the Christian God. That will have repercussions in the election.

Are "progressive" theologians like this even theists? He also touts a "Bible" that rewords things like the masculine pronoun for God to fit their personal notions. No actual theist would do this, just as no one who sincerely believes in physics would declare F=m/a just because they feel like it. The only 'god' they believe in is themselves, and their absolute power to define reality as they see fit and force others to conform to it.

But the creator of all things, called “God” in the English language, is a Person.
Therefore “God” is a noun.

But neither the Father, nor the Son, nor the Holy Ghost, is a human person (they’re divine persons).
Therefore, God is not a Christian.
