Personally never bothered with the vaccine because none of them were reliable. And the preventative, at least the one that was available at that point, does strange things to your ability to sleep. Works for short term, about a week or so, but long term you are going to have problems. The US military found that out during Desert Storm.

Test and cure will give you the least amount of problems over the long term. And it is reliable.
