A proposal to make hunting and fishing illegal in Oregon has received enough signatures to advance to the Nov. ballot. The Sec. of State needs to validate all the signatures first. A Portland City Council member wants to rename Cesar Chavez Blvd. Details: http://katu.com

Could be worse.
They could make the hunting of Conservatives legal in Oregon.
And I wouldn’t be a tiny bit surprised if they did, at least in the Portland area.
I do not believe 167 (which appears to be a catch-all) addresses anything like fishing and hunting:

Methinks that outlawing fishing and hunting got started as a rumor and has now been given eternal life by the internet.
I sugest you go look at the exemptions in the statute. You will find it there (hint (g) along with a plethora of others.
“The are regulated by Federal law on reservation, not state law.”
The Indian rights extend beyond the reservations.
I have heard that, when properly prepared, vegans are delicious.
The Indian rights extend beyond the reservations.

Right they do, but the point is the the State can argue that point in court. There are a few cases where the State has won over the Tribes on taxation - among others - on off reservation activities. But the State cannot regulate anything on Reservation.

This is just stupid. Properly controlled hunting and fishing is necessary to maintain a healthy ecosystem primarily because we’ve killed off most of the top predators. Without us or them you get an overpopulated and generally sick population of some animals. Deer are a prime example. These people are morons.
That is the problem, there are no polls, 100% mail in ballots, that may get counted if they are for the luny proposition, else they are trash.
Never let mail in voting take your government away from you an I can guarantee it will.
I’m going to say this is probably not what the proposal says.

To me it’s a lot of window dressing mumbo-jumbo to remove the hunting and farming exceptions to animal cruelty, which would effectively criminalize all forms of commercial and sport activities related to fishing, hunting, crabbing, ranching, etc.
