Most of the social media apps have filters now where a person can apply the filter(s) and make themselves look much nicer.
Most women seem to think that this is a normal part of posting photos and they do it all the time. One of my wife's friends does it.
If you call them out on it, they get very upset.

Guy I know chronicled his relationship on social media. I was astounded how he attracted such a beauty. Got married a short time later. I bumped into them outside the supermarket. I was floored when he introduced me to his wife.
Went home and revisited his profile. I was able to see a slight resemblance between the wife and the pics of the wife . . . .
I'm so old this kind of stuff could not happen, and back then I don't know of any women who would have done such if it had bee possible. I see these things all the time while I scroll social media and I wonder why it is so prevalent. It is lying, plain and simple.
Thank goodness I met my wife almost 48 years ago and we have been married for over 44 years. She has such a great complexion she only ever wore a bit of eye liner and still doesn't have to use makeup to this day.
