Just do away with the “trough”. No more pensions. No retirement plan. No insurance. Minimal salary, if any. You’ll clear out the cons then.

CONgresscritter and staffers have their own “special” retirement system. They accumulate service time 80% faster than most other fed employees and they lumped themselves in with law enforcement and fire fighters.

IMHO, never to be confused with that of anyone who matters, we need to do away with government pensions for elected offices.

Give them a 401k. Half match up to 12%.

They should just get a 401K or IRA like tge private sector.

Up to 10% of THEIR pay and the feds can match 100% up to their first 5%.

That’s it.
