Apparently "caballero" is another Spanish term that has escaped AOC's tiny brain.

Caballero /kăb″ə-lâr′ō, -əl-yâr′ō, kä″bä-yĕ′rō/

noun

1. A Spanish gentleman; a cavalier.

2. A man who is skilled in riding and managing horses; a horseman.

3. A knight or cavalier; hence, a gentleman.

AOC couldn't school a five year old on how to chew bubble gum while walking.

The Spanish also introduced domestic cattle to the Americas. Otherwise we’d be talking about Bisonboys instead of cowboys.

Andalusian horses are beautiful. However, for my dumbass American waysI I will stick with Arabian, Quarter, or Paint horses. Each to their own choices. Cowboys are born with a long ancestry. If you got the nerve to strap that pony on, you’re headed in the right direction. AOC is an idiot by the way. IMO

She was thinking of her old job, as in, “ . . .take a seat, cowboy, what can I get for you? One bourbon, one scotch and one beer. . . .”

I don't think Sandy even speaks Spanish. She was raised in Westchester, Dick Van Dyke Show suburbia.

Who is the gaucho amigo?
Why is he standing
In your spangled leather poncho
And your elevator shoes?
Bodacious cowboys
Such as your friend
Will never be welcome here

My grandfather was a cowboy on the King Ranch from 1903 to 1930. I recall him talking about Indian, black and Mexican cowboys being very good riders and wranglers. Cowboys were mostly white but as a group they were a very mixed bag of characters from all kinds of backgrounds.

And the cowboys in Hawaii, “paniolo”, also came from
Spain. It’s pidgin for “Hispaniola”.

I love the cowboy history and culture in America. When people called Bush a cowboy in a derogatory way, I was puzzled. “Cowboy” is a good thing — so I thought.

Spanish explorers (conquistadors) reintroduced horses to North America, starting with Christopher Columbus in 1493 (Caribbean) and Hernán Cortés in 1519 (mainland Mexico). While horses evolved in North America and went extinct 10,000+ years ago, the Spanish brought domesticated horses that eventually transformed Native American, particularly Great Plains, cultures.

“The vaquero tradition, originating in Spanish Andalusia is the origin of the cowboy”

Vaqueros obtained their horses from Spanish settlers and conquistadors who imported Andalusian and Barb breeds from Spain to Mexico and the American Southwest starting in the early 16th century. These horses, which were vital to managing massive herds on expansive, arid ranches, eventually multiplied to create the wild mustang population.

...Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, as in Hernan Cortes, one of the the Spanish explorers who reintroduced horses to the Americas.

"Sandy from Westchester" hasn't a clue.
