Abortion Center is Demolished After Killing Babies for 40 Years

The EMW Women’s Surgical Center, Louisville’s last abortion facility that had been killing unborn babies for over 40 years, has been demolished.

The building that housed the abortion clinic was recently reduced to rubble, Kentucky Right to Life announced.

“From ashes… the fall of EMW is a milestone—but not the finish line. It is a reminder that perseverance matters. That truth endures. That faith, lived out over time, changes history,” the pro-life group posted on X.

It added: “Over 40 years, EMW Women’s Surgical Center in Louisville—has been reduce to rubble.”

The abortion center, established in 1981, had killed thousands of unborn babies until the U.S. Supreme Court’s 2022 Dobbs decision overturned Roe v. Wade and allowed Kentucky to enforce its abortion ban that helps women and protects babies.

It became the state’s sole abortion business in early 2017 after its Lexington satellite clinic closed due to stringent licensing regulations designed to protect women.

State data showed abortions in Kentucky fell sharply after the ban took effect.

In 2021, there were 4,441 abortions that killed babies in the state. That number shrank to 2,250 in 2022 — meaning 1,891 babies were saved. From January to July 2023, reported abortions dropped by almost 100% compared with the same period in 2021, according to the Cabinet for Health and Family Services’ Office of Vital Statistics, with only 13 reported versus 2,591 previously.

With the closure of EMW Women’s Surgical Center and Planned Parenthood Louisville following the ban, Kentucky no longer has any centers that kill babies but dozens that protect them and care for women, according to pro-life advocates.

The demolition marks the end of an era in which the facility operated despite repeated efforts by state officials to shut it down.

Derned if I'd stay there. With all the evil that was done there, the ground is probably cursed or haunted.

A blessing from a priest...if not outright exorcism of the space could be in order...
