The bullet was too damaged to match it to the barrel. It was throughout caliber .

“My neighbor tells me that the bullet doesn’t match the gun”

So what? Fragmented bullets rarely do.

And tell your neighbor the bullet casing does match so they can unknot their panties.

“””””My neighbor tells me that the bullet doesn’t match the gun.”””””

That is purely a statement about the condition of the bullet and the damage it suffered, it doesn’t match any gun after the damage, it doesn’t mean that it is intact and couldn’t come from the rifle used.

My neighbor tells me that the bullet doesn't match the gun.

The slug was deformed when it hit bone and so the bullet spirals can't be matched with the bore spirals in the 30-06, which is to be expected.

Anyone that has a passing knowledge of ballistics is not surprised, but the prosecution does not need this as proof of guilt for that fag bastard that shot and killed the Charlie Kirk.

There is so much provable evidence, that the bullet fragments are not even considered as relevant by the prosecutor.

Give him the death penalty, and I will volunteer to shoot that murderer {first in the scrotum, next in the knee, next in the elbow, and an hour later, in the head}

Too brutal? Sorry, it is my version of justice, really hurt the fag bastard.

Bullet is inconclusive due to damage; however, spent casings found do match th rifle.

...the bullet doesn’t match the gun.

Easy solution. Use exactly the same setup to shoot the kid and then compare the two bullets.

My neighbor tells me that the bullet doesn’t match the gun.

Your neighbor watches too much CNN.

Mythbusters did a segment related to this topic. They were testing whether you can swim underwater to shield yourself from gunfire.

What they found was that pistol and shotgun ammunition was able to penetrate several feet, so the swimmer was not protected.

All supersonic rifle ammunition, up to and including .50-cal, exploded on the surface and broke into tiny pieces.

Adam Savage did a follow-up in his podcast.

He revealed that subsequent to the above episode, he learned that high-velocity ammunition is designed to "mechanically couple" with fleshy targets upon impact and immediately fragment to take as much flesh as possible with it as it exits.

We saw this during the Kyle Rittenhouse trial when he shot Gaige Grosskreutz, vaporizing Grosskeutz's bicep.

Tell your neighbor it's impossible to match bullet fragments to any rifle.
