Pattern recognition is not a political act. It is how your brain keeps you alive. Doctors diagnose disease with it. Generals anticipate attacks through it. Every competent investor in the history of capital markets has made money using it. Information theory research estimates that human senses gather roughly 11 million bits of data per second from the environment, whereas the conscious mind processes only about 50.
