CNN gleefully reported that Iranian citizens were out in great numbers helping the IRGC search for the missing pilot.

They had to retract their story when it turned out that the Iranian citizens were pulling their vehicles into the road and turning them off to block the roads from being used by the IRGC searchers.

Is that right? I hadn't heard that. I saw a video (over and over) of a few Iranians moving through rugged terrain, some carrying Iranian flags. There's no way to tell from the video whether these guys were trying to help the IRGC or trying to help the downed airman.
