it turned out that the Iranian citizens were pulling their vehicles into the road and turning them off to block the roads from being used by the IRGC searchers. Is that right? I hadn't heard that. I saw a video (over and over) of a few Iranians moving through rugged terrain, some carrying Iranian flags. There's no way to tell from the video whether these guys were trying to help the IRGC or trying to help the downed airman.

The video I saw they were carrying mullah regime flags. I don’t imagine they were there to help.

There is a youtube channel run by Mayhar Tousi who is an Iranian exile living in London. He speaks Iranian and has many contacts in Iran that send cell phone video and who tell him what is going on in the population as far as attitude toward the US/Israel operation. Here is the broadcast where he covers the Iranian civilian population helping the downed pilot:

Tousi has also shown cell phone video from Tehran where IRGC offices got hit by a drone or a missile. The Iranian citizens were running around in the street cheering.
