O'Keefe served restraining order for domestic violence by former Project Veritas board member.
Independent journalist and O’Keefe Media Group founder James O’Keefe was served a restraining order while he was filming a live show this week.
Footage shows a sheriff’s deputy walking into O’Keefe’s studio and presenting him a restraining order filed by former Project Veritas board member Matthew Tyrmand, accusing him of domestic violence.
“This is insane. There’s a sheriff in my studio serving me domestic violence documents because the board member said he wanted to murder me,” O’Keefe said.
“And I know you’re just doing your job and I get it,” O’Keefe told the officer, adding, “I understand, but we’re entering a constitutional crisis in the United States. And today I’ve got a police officer bringing me to court.”
Tyrmand was the subject of an OMG sting op last month where O’Keefe confronted him inside a restaurant asking why he’d made death threats towards him.
“Very unusual for a Judge to grant a temporary restraining order against a newsroom. I’ve had these filed before,” O’Keefe wrote on X, adding, “We stand by our reporting and will fight for the 1st amendment.”

Here’s a copy of the restraining order:
A court hearing on the matter will be held on April 1st at 9:00 a.m. at the Lawson E. Thomas Courthouse Center in Miami, Fla.

Did the officer say, “April Fools!”?
Demo-commie judge self-identifies.
We have anarcho-tyranny.
We have a Justice system that doesn’t work at all.
We don’t have honest elections, and we refuse to fix them.
We pay high taxes and our Representatives refuse to represent us.
We’re not voting our way out of this.
Unbelievable. This country has indeed lost its way. This isn’t just a constitutional crisis, it’s one of morality, it’s one of faith, and even though I’d like to see this kind of stuff go away, it’s only going to get worse. Mark my words, we are indeed living in the days of persecution as foretold in the scriptures.
“Domestic Violence?” Were they dating? Living together? What exactly is this guy alleging?
Wow. Gave him less than 24 hours to appear in court? Nice. Should be interesting to find out how this goes. I don’t know the law but if Tyrnand has accused O’Keefe of domestic violence and doesn’t have any evidence to back it up, sounds like he could be charged with false accusation.
Doesn't matter if it's legitimate or not.
The process is the punishment, and qualified immunity allows the punishers to run wild.
I’m not clear on why I”Keefe received a restraining order when he is allegedly the person who has received the death threats. Maybe I’m not reading it correctly.
This article is written in such a choppy fashion, it may be nothing more than somebody’s overworked attempts to be funny on April 1st.
Because liberal judge
No, the officer was not doing his job. If he were, he would have waited until the show was over.
You are reading it correctly.
“This is insane. There’s a sheriff in my studio serving me domestic violence documents because the board member said he wanted to murder me,” O’Keefe said.
The "justice system" has been weaponized by the Left.
‘ No, the officer was not doing his job. If he were, he would have waited until the show was over.’
Lol. Why?
It says, without evidence.
I saw a lot of this type of injustice in the 1960s-70s. Is there more now? I doubt it. The difference is the internet, social media, the centralization of what used to be local only news.
“I don’t know the law but if Tyrnand has accused O’Keefe of domestic violence and doesn’t have any evidence to back it up, sounds like he could be charged with false accusation.”
Injunction, not a charge.
And that is the real crime. The ability to ruin a life without consequence.
We are lost. Happy to be in my last days.
So what personal relationship did the two have to qualify as domestic violence? Sounds like something missing, or a lawyer over reached, or publicity stunt.
Doesn't matter if it's a legitimate charge. The process is the punishment, and qualified immunity allows the punishers to run wild.
