In an unprecedented move that has left parents and students scratching their heads, Maplewood Elementary School announced yesterday that starting next week, all students will be required to take a mandatory two-hour nap during school hours.
The new policy, dubbed "Dream Time," aims to improve focus and overall student well-being.
Principal Susan Bright explained, "After extensive research, we found that a short nap can boost creativity, memory, and happiness. Plus, who doesn’t love a good snooze?" The school is installing custom sleep pods in every classroom, complete with lavender scent diffusers and plush pillows.
Parents initially reacted with surprise and a little confusion. Mark Thompson, father of third-grader Lily, said, "I thought it was a joke at first. My daughter already struggles to wake up early; now she has to nap in the middle of the day?" Others expressed concern about productivity and the potential for classroom chaos. Students, however, are thrilled. Eleven-year-old Max Ramirez said, "Best day ever! I’ve been dreaming about this for years." Teachers are equally optimistic, with some joking that they might join in for a quick rest themselves.
City officials are watching closely. Mayor Linda Carter announced plans to implement "Dream Time" in all city schools if the pilot program proves successful. "It's a bold step towards revolutionizing education," she stated, “and if it helps students, why not?”
As April Fool's Day approaches, many are wondering whether the "Dream Time" initiative is real or just an elaborate prank. But given the school’s quirky reputation, it’s safe to say that for now, students can look forward to catching some Z’s—at least for today.

Yeah I didn’t catch the 2 hour thing....that’s a little excessive to say the least.
My best recollection was 30 minutes.
“As April Fool’s Day approaches...”
Getting the kids ready for midnight basketball.
Need a lot of time to dumb down the kids and give the teachers make out time.
Just look at Jerry Nadler the little penguin.
Good question.
And the popping of smoke that comes with it.
I thought this was in the category of one of Laz’s April Fool’s joke threads.
Maybe not.
Todays “teachers” really don’t want to teach.
I’m OUTRAGED that the US doesn’t have a national naptime policy. We’re the GREATEST nation on earth, and every GREAT empire runs on productive naps, preferably with milk and cookies. Thank you for your attention to this important matter.
Happy April Fool’s Day!
Poor Laz. He just posted an April Fool’s joke thread. And the mods pulled it.
At least I think it was a joke thread.
(lol)
It’s an April fools post.
The educrat establishment will do anything other then actually “teach”!
April Fool!!!
I wonder if it is before or after the Disney Movie is played.
Oh No- I’ve enjoyed his April Fool’s threads for years.
I “got got” (as Laz says) several times...
It’s a public school, they can do what they want with your kids. No use complaining either. If you don’t like it, then GET THEM OUT (even if it means giving up the boat, the new F150, or the status of a huge house).
Mr. Mataz puts talent and effort into his work. I cheated and used a chatbot.
Also boozing parents, fights, and gun shots in the neighborhood.
