‘Goodbye California’ anthem sparks firestorm as country star hits back at critics: ‘Right is right’

Country star Annie Bosko is speaking out about the criticism that she has faced after releasing her new song "Goodbye California" earlier this year.

During an interview with Fox News Digital, the 40-year-old singer explained that the bittersweet country ballad has resonated with the majority of listeners but struck a nerve with others, who have tried to frame the song as political, which she insists was not her intention.

"I have gotten some backlash on the song, and I'm OK with it," Bosko shared ahead of her March 5 concert at the famed West Hollywood music venue the Troubadour.

"I think anytime you put yourself out there to make a statement and to say something, people will take any shot at turning something political," she continued.

"I don't believe in getting involved in politics — I care about the state that I grew up in," Bosko added. "I love California. So that's where I stand on things. And there comes a point where right is right and wrong is wrong, and it feels like there's too much wrong going on."

"So, you know what, if 1% of people are upset with me, then so be it, right?" Bosko added. "You can't please them all."

...What do you think about the idea that if we had a reliable vote and count the democrats would presently lose even in California?

The RATs would still win most elections in California because they have imported parasites from all over the World. What would change, however, is the amount of control the RATs have. Right now out of 53 Congressmen only 9 are Republicans. Even that is not enough for the Commies running that state, they want to tilt the balance even more than that!

You’re right. It IS neither.

It’s correct.

Johnny Cash is a national treasure. Aside from him, I’ll pass.

At least in America we can have differences of opinion on the arts without being executed.

Have a great Sunday, FRiend.

“God Bless America” is political. “Do What You Want To Do” is political. “Les Miserables” is political.

Country music is about a hundred years old, so it is possible that a horse is mentioned, just as cars, trucks, sunsets, pretty girls, etc.

True, but there's still songs specifically about horses, not just a mere mention of them.

Run Wild Horses, Tennessee Stud, Raining Horses, Strawberry Roan, Ride Me Back Home, Save a Horse (Ride a Cowboy), Beer for My Horses, Wildfire, Comanche (Brave Horse), She Loves Horses, Never Not Had Horses, and so on. I'd even argue Horse Soldier, Horse Soldier would count too!

“Beer for My Horses”

That is definitely not about horses.

“Wildfire” is not a country music song.

Some of you people are so freaking stupid; you need to get a life. Of all the hundreds of thousands of country music songs and you happen to finally pull in a few and try to prove your point.

I am an avid country music fan until about fifteen years ago, and the only one I recognized was “Commanche” by Johnny Horton.
