When it comes to the queer bar in the wild, so many threats exist, and it's only gotten worse in the past few years. Higher upfront costs combined with lower foot traffic have caused a nationwide problem for the service and food industries, which is exacerbated in queer spaces, which deal with smaller demographics than the average bar or restaurant. And of course, there’s the fact that many people, especially younger people, just don’t go out or have a third space anymore.

If someone doesn't know how these "dating apps" work, do a little reading, but not on a full stomach. It's not just how to find willing anonymous sexual partners in public, but where to have sex in public. And the vast majority of fags are quite literally addicted to these apps.
As much as I enjoy supporting our local churches with their Friday Lenten Fish Fries, one of our area’s mom and pop bars has an awesome fish dinner during Lent at a great price. Homemade mac and cheese, homemade cole slaw, fresh cut fries, so good.
Or socializing, in general, it’s all online now.

I lived in a great apt at 3rd and arch in Philly for a few years. They had a parking lot adjacent to the friends meeting house where i kept my 1980 MGB. Down the street toward market on 3rd was a lesbian bar. No big deal it’s philly. One night coming home from my GF in south philly i drove up 3rd to my apt and the street was filled with gals fighting. Here i am sitting in my MG working my way slowly up the street thru the fight with the top down hoping they don’t go for the only guy around.

I used to frequent a lesbian bar at Mission Beach (San Diego), by the roller coaster.
Gay bars were always expensive outlets where gays felt comfortable. Now they feel that way everywhere. Every gay bar owner I ever met was either a sociopath or a gangster. It was a great way to launder money through liquor and drugs.
