Cruz said Dem leadership against it, so no Dem senators willmove on it., due to opposition of trial lawyers and unions. Trump said, you'll have trouble in the House, too, no doubt thinking of Massie. It’s kind of pathetic that a U.S. President feels a need to meddle in something as extraneous as college sports.

Personally, I’d remove sports (as currently in use) from ALL levels of education. Education and sports don’t mix. Maybe establish a different system to develop athletes.

Colleges are running the minor leagues for the pros.
Spin them off at let colleges get back to their educational mission.

Hoops, baseball/softball, and American Football will take care for itself.

Of course the president has absolutely no purview over college sports, so any executive order he writes is completely meaningless, unenforceable and frankly a giant waste of time. And if they think college getting paid is a problem, well those executive orders would also be on the wrong side of history. People should be paid to work. The NCAA system was slavery disguised as purity, and vile.

Football players were getting killed on the field courtesy of the flying wedge. TR said that unless college football changed its rules to make the game less lethal he was going to outlaw the sport.

The NCAA or whatever controlling authority existed at the time heeded his warning. One result was the invention of the forward pass.
