Prior to the shooting, authorities had interviewed Colin Gray and his son after federal law enforcement received a tip.
The FBI said its National Threat Operations Center had alerted local police in May 2023 after receiving anonymous tips about "online threats to commit a school shooting at an unidentified location and time".
The agency said that within 24 hours, investigators had determined that the threats originated in Georgia.
Sheriff's deputies interviewed the boy and his father, who "stated he had hunting guns in the house, but the subject did not have unsupervised access to them", the FBI said.

I agree. Parents shouldn’t not spend time for murder, when he didn’t know the son was going to do it.

Not a fan of this verdict... What’s next? I buy a son or daughter a car, they get in an accident because they drive bad and kill some one now it’s my fault?

A better analogy is you buy your kid a car knowing they plan to run over people in it. So yeah. It’s your fault.
Not a dangerous precedent, but a step in the right direction. It forces parents of feral teens to raise responsible children.
And if it takes trials like this every week kin Chicago, then at some point sanity and normalcy will return.
I think the school should also be held accountable. After all, isn’t it the left that tells us the schools know better than the parents and therefore they are the ones that raise the kids. It appears they failed, so why not persecute them?

Ever have kids? If so did you ever tell your kids one thing and they do the exact opposite?
A 13 year old knows murder is wrong and knows right vs wrong. It’s on them. The parent didn’t say go kill people.

This precedent is good. Now when they start putting the parents of the black gang bangers in jail crime rates will actually decrease. I’m sure that’s going to happen.

In your first paragraph, if your son or daughter gets a speeding ticket or parking ticket they are coming after you too.
But idiots never learn. When they come after them for something someone else done, you will see the tears start flowing.
What is next is, it, over time will expand to cover , over time just about, if not, everything.
