The father of a teenage boy accused of killing four people in a shooting rampage at a high school in the US state of Georgia has been found guilty of murder, child cruelty and other charges
His prosecution marks the third time that a US parent has been held criminally responsible for a mass shooting carried out by their child...

Prosecutors argued he ignored numerous warning signs, including a notebook detailing how his son planned to kill students and teachers.
During the trial, the jury heard how Colin Gray had bought his son an AR-style rifle for Christmas the year before the attack, even though the boy had been questioned by police just seven months earlier about online threats to commit a school shooting.

He now faces at least 30 years in prison. His sentencing hearing has not yet been scheduled.
Prior to the shooting, authorities had interviewed Colin Gray and his son after federal law enforcement received a tip.
The FBI said its National Threat Operations Center had alerted local police in May 2023 after receiving anonymous tips about "online threats to commit a school shooting at an unidentified location and time".
The agency said that within 24 hours, investigators had determined that the threats originated in Georgia.
Sheriff's deputies interviewed the boy and his father, who "stated he had hunting guns in the house, but the subject did not have unsupervised access to them", the FBI said.
The suspect, who was 13 years old at the time, denied making the online threats...

The murderous Son, Colt Grey, has not declared himself as Trans, but many indications are apparent.
I wonder if his name ‘Colt” is short for Colton.
Not a fan of this verdict... What’s next? I buy a son or daughter a car, they get in an accident because they drive bad and kill some one now it’s my fault?
The guilty party is the kid, bad parenting is bad parenting but the kid pulled the trigger.
This is a dangerous precedent in American law. I feel for the parents of victims, but whew. this is a slippery slope that will lead to unjust results.
We will be having trials like this every week in Chicago if we apply the law equally to all parents.
If you can’t raise a kid, don’t have one. A man’s no better than the son they raise.
Sorry, if the kid’s under 18, the parents are responsible for any and all crimes. Period.
When the police tell you your son has made certain threats to other students and the school, you don’t go out and buy your son a rifle. If you do, you deserve to spend 20 years in prison with your murdering son.

Dad was an absentee dad. Only got the kid when the dope using mother was sent to jail.
Kid didn’t attend a single day of eigth grade but got promoted to ninth.
Grandmothers tried to help.
Don’t know much about the case, but seems to me this county (under dems mostly but repubs too) take away the parents rights to discipline and raise their children and then hold them accountable when they turn out to be little shits and dangers to society.
I am not a fan either. If there could be any type of charge, it needs to be something along the lines of “purchasing a weapon for a minor who went on to murder others with said weapon”. If tue parent encourages the deadly behavior, then specify that, or fo after them on inciting murder or conspirscy type charges. It needs to be specific to what a parent actually did or didnt do, not what the kid did. What the minor child does is their own responsibility.
I agree. Parents shouldn’t not spend time for murder, when he didn’t know the son was going to do it.
Correct
If the parents are responsible then all the democrats enabling violent crime are doubly responsible.
This is slippery slope.
Agree. But it’s not up to me. Would like Democrats help accountable for once though.
(Ezekiel 18:20) The soul who sins shall die. The son shall not suffer for the iniquity of the father, nor the father suffer for the iniquity of the son. The righteousness of the righteous shall be upon himself, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon himself.
I think this conviction is bad as my crystal ball doesn’t work either.
It’s as if the evil of the person who committed the crime is so great he is not allowed to bare it himself. The arbitrary age restriction for capital punishment requires society to punish others. Mob retribution.
EIGHTH GRADE RECORDS SAY IT ALL
He ignored the warning signs.
