This isn’t necessary. Do we always have to pick apart someone elses life who has done well?
Are we just assuming the mother was fertile, and bypassed, yet raised the kids anyway? Seems unlikely.
Who are you to pass judgement? Would the world be a better place without her? What a stupid premise for an article.
A French woman at 29 can continue working and become a loving mom when she’s more stable financially. Then look at all the medical students profiles with whom she chooses to pick out-not knowing him. I’d think most guys wouldn’t give up their sperm for that but there’s plenty of it to go around for the few of those that do.
If that French woman goes for it in her 40’s she’ll need a lot more than money. Older parents make parenthood tougher. She’ll still be alone with her cats and no man. That points to government getting more involved in the continuation of society.
China is known for its lack of women due to the one-child laws. The chances of finding the right woman there were low. It is not strange for a man to want children.
Who cares? Leftists (gay men) do it all the time.
Also, it isn’t anyone’s business.
I thought that was Eileen Gu, not Alysa Liu.
I thought he & wife got divorced after surrogacy
Should have done something about it back then. But it’s too late baby now it’s too late.
Clearly, Susan Quinn (the article’s writer) seems a bit jealous and judgmental. Alysa’s dad has done a wonderful job of raising a happy, well-adjusted accomplished daughter. And I suspect he did commendable selection of a quality egg donor. All IMHO, of course.
What do you know about women who never knew their biological mothers? There are usually plenty of people to play a maternal role in a girl’s life, and I know that from my personal experience.
As for the rest, you’ve simply imagined a critique to fit a subject you know very little about. (I don’t think the average Chinese person has an issue over ‘flat chests, noses and butts’ They have their own concepts and ideals of beauty. Jeez...)
So what?
This kind of rancid commentary is uncalled for.
We are not Nazi Germany demanding bloodline purity.
In general the bloodlines of Americans are a swamp of DNA from all around the world.
Some mixtures and backgrounds do well, some do not.
This young girl deserves accolades for what she has acheived, not back fence gossip about her origin and life.
It's no longer man and wife but wife and wife, husband and husband, donors and carrier, etc.
Optimal way to raise a child is two dedicated biological parents. It is absolutely possible to raise a healthy, happy child in different circumstances but the degree of difficulty rises with each deviation from optimal. I believe it immoral to voluntarily deprive one’s child of the best upbringing you can provide. I don’t know enough to judge this father but the facts presented are disturbing.
we live in a crab bucket, where anyone who does well gets pulled down.
Well people who don’t do well get pulled down also.
Everyone sits in judgement of everyone
I wondered why they only mentioned the father and Alysa didn’t look Chinese.
Alysa’s father produced five children via surrogacy. He is a lawyer and has the resources to give the kids a comfortable life. The children seem to be okay.
BTW children raised by a single father thrive almost on the level of a two parent household. Single mother households, not so much.
Sounds like the made a sports Frankenstein.
Article looks like a CCP hit piece.
