Some drug cartel members are known to wear specific rings, often as a symbol of their affiliation or status within the organization. These rings can serve as a form of identification among members and may carry significant meaning related to their criminal activities. Pinky rings among drug cartel members often symbolize status, loyalty, and authority within their ranks. They serve as a badge of honor, reflecting the wearer's success and power in a dangerous world, and are sometimes associated with criminal heritage and identity. IIRC, pinky rings are significant in the good old fashioned Mafia.

The only reason I think it isn’t a cartel is that they haven’t sent an amputated finger to the family as proof they mean business.

The sheriff could be in on it…..maybe monetarily.
The whole crime scene was f’d up immediately.
Who does that?
To: doc maverick
What went on for 48 minutes in her home?
Coercion to give up passwords?
Full backpack? Electronics? Zip ties?
Is perp making a woman suit?
Did perp pack her suitcase? What was missing besides Nancy?

I'm impressed. Her abduction was apparently February 1, and in no time flat, on the 15th a glove possibly from the abductor was found near her home. A mere two or three days later a ring was found inside the glove.

Yes, but I think the cartels will do that, too. Besides, what’s the holdup? The family has agreed to pay the ransom, haven’t they?
To: TornadoAlley3
I think they packed a suitcase and took some of her meds along.
They kept saying she had no medication with her….did they know the pill counts she should have had on each med?
All the perps would have to do is write down the names, dosages and administration times and take a few of each.
Then they could get the rest in Mexico.
