She and another American born figure skater are splitting $6.6 million from China, which is likely tax free too.
You don't train your entire life to represent your country, you train and compete for love of the sport, self gratification that comes along with winning and hope for the big payday from endorsements.
To stand in the winner's circle and say you are skiing or skating or whatever for your country is just BS for the camera.

I guess the millions she could have made in the US were not enough.
She is talented and good looking. She would have made gobs of cash. She still might…but instead she chose to go in another direction. That is sad.
I certainly would not welcome her home with anything other than a grunt. But….she doesn’t consider us “home” so there is that.
