You would think they would have an archivist on site to ensure no data is ever lost.

People who think we landed on the moon and filmed it are the same people who think Building 7 killed itself.

I believed both a few years ago... so don’t take it personal buttercup.

Sounds kinda like what happened to the early Johnny Carson show tapes. A decade’s worth of historic interviews lost because the networks wiped and reused the tapes back then to save money.

Missing tapes? Nah, they are in storage in a crate next to the Ark Of The Covenant. Didn’t anybody pay attention to the end of that movie?

Is the line ‘Good luck Mr. Gorsky’ audible on any of them?

In the early ‘70s my old man was working on a project with NASA and one of the guys gave him slides from a moon mission, said they were never released to the public. I remember him showing us all of them and then putting them away. After he passed and we were moving my mom out to a new place I scoured the joint to find them but never did. They might have been worth something.

It’s rare to preserve detailed records and to have them in accessible condition. A notable exception is Smith and Wesson, which kept excellent records and had an in house historian, Roy Jinks. When he retired S&W gave him all records which have since been cared for and curated by the S&W Collectors Association. You can request (purchase) a letter detailing your gun listing date shipped, to where or who, and anyother items of interest. They also maintain invoices, in many cases indicating guns sent to various law enforcement agencies.

It’s scary there are dummies who think the moon landings were faked.
So foolish in many ways .
The thousands of people who would have covered it up.
The Russians watched every move we made.
Crazy stuff

After reading Bart Sibrel’s book Moon Man I am not sure we were even capable off going to the moon. He raises a lot of interesting questions on this.

(1) Going to and from the Moon through the Van Allen Radiation Belt

(2) Having enough fuel to even leave Earth Orbit to go to the Moon and get back. Von Braun said initially that they would need to send up extra rockets of fuel to even be able to blast out of earth’s orbit.

(3) Then there were the Space Suits and could they actually work on the Moon.

(4) My favorite how could the Lunar module possible have blasted off the moon to get back in orbit to hook with Command module. The more you look that thing it is an absolutely flimsy piece of equipment. Anyone wonder how they could have possibly loaded the Lunar Rover onto that thing and were was the power source to run the air conditioner and heater for the extreme temps for 3 days, they claim they used car batteries, well if you can;t change them they run out of power.

So many technical questions and no enough answers. Why has no other country gone to the moon, especially the Russian’s?

I remember reading about this over 30 years ago, but it is a timely reminder that something similar is happening right now.

47 slashed NASA’s budget so severely that whole NASA libraries are being consigned to the shredder.

47 apparently wants NASA’s Artemis to succeed, but on a heavily reduced budget [ much of which was restored by Sen Cruz ] only for the prestige. NASA science is anathema to him, and only some of it got recently restored - particularly the Mars Return Sample Mission, [ the culmination of all previous Mars missions and mega-billions spent on them ].

Had no one attempted to restore NASA to its former shoestring budget, neither Artemis, James Webb, Hubble and more recent space based imaging systems would be in operation now. As it is thousands of highly skilled NASA engineers and others were fired. Perhaps Isaacman will rehire them, but all the progress that could have been made, is lost.

As I recall, the original story had some low level NASA functionary throwing out roomfuls of tapes, documents, and reports to clean up NASA’s storage rooms and to make way for newer stuff. No doubt he got a raise for his efficiency.

Plain and simple: Moon landing deniers are among the most ignorant people on earth.

No point arguing with them as they will just make up crap to counter any reality you put before them. They are borderline delusional.
