An Olive Garden cook has died after he dunked his own head into a searing hot deep fryer — as his co-workers frantically tried to thwart his gruesome suicide, authorities said.
The employee, who hasn’t been identified, stripped his clothes off and thrust his face into the fryer at the chain’s restaurant in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, last Friday afternoon, the Smoking Gun reported.
“A male victim went head first into the fryers,” dispatchers could be heard saying in grim 911 audio.
“I don’t have a lot of details, lot of people screaming, some kind of a burn victim,” another operator could be heard saying.
The cook was rushed a nearby hospital to be treated for his severe burns, but he later died from his injuries, authorities said.

Fortunately for Olive Garden not much of their menu relies on a hot fryer. Unlimited salad and pasta and I’m good.
A few years ago, a young man drowned in a pool at an apartment complex here in town. Found him floating at sunrise on a Sunday morning, and was quite dead. He was removed from the pool. The apartment manager super-disinfected the pool and called it good. Draining, cleaning, then refilling was just too much work, apparently...
Someone here once said so many of the drug company TV ads for various drugs, many of them not at all for psychological problems, say a side effect for some people includes “suicidal ideation” “mood swings” “feeling of having to move” or “depressed mood” and others.
Some say 12% or 16% may experience some of those side effects and should contact a health professional.
Thus, with the CDC saying “In 2024, the United States consumed over 215 billion days of therapy (defined daily doses) of prescription medication. Approximately 70% of U.S. adults take at least one prescription drug daily, with 24% to 26% of adults taking four or more prescriptions per day.” then how many people coming into casual contact with us are experiencing unnatural moods?
Man he must have had a lot of guilt going on?.
Those coworkers are going to need some serious therapy. I can’t even imagine.

They were going to change the oil but they began getting race reviews about their deep fried offerings. The entire chain is planning to treat their oil with head.
I take one unavoidable prescription, and around fourteen vitamins/minerals per day. I'm old; but the latter is how I've kept the unavoidable quotient to one.
Can’t remember the year, maybe I was 72, but the medical office questioner looked up at me and she said: “No daily prescription. Do you know how very few people can say that?”
Stupid thyroid then went weak so I sadly became like other people.
You’re not supposed to do that. Health Inspectors will give the restaurant negative marks for cleanliness.
