Television personality Sage Steele is back in the hot seat after telling former first lady Michelle Obama to “shut up” about Black women’s hair struggles.
The former ESPN anchor addressed the former first lady on her Actual Friends podcast, criticizing remarks Michelle Obama made in November about Black women's hair and the pressure many feel to straighten it due to Eurocentric beauty standards.

I've lost all respect for this woman because of how she's choosing to behave with that title of former first lady. It's funny and it's pathetic,” Steele said in a clip shared online.
“Because what you’re doing, you’re sitting there b-tching about white people’s standards to force you to make it straight,” she added. “And what are you doing, getting paid $100,000+ per speech, straightening your damn hair?”

She/He can shut up about every damn thing.

I watched the movie ‘Melania’ today. An incredible look into the lives of the super elite. Royalty never had it so good . You got to see all the former Presidents show up to the inauguration. The notable exception was Mooch. Barrack arrived all by himself. Because the movie covered the month before Trump became president again it also included Carter’s funeral.
My wife told me that today after seeing one on the checker at the Dollar General.
Oh no she di’int!
“They write ads that demean white young men and black women.”
? The black women I see in ads are either nuclear physicists or Mother Teresa or both.
Why then, white women are curling their hair?
Call me uninformed, but I have not noticed that black women crave personal style advice from Michelle Obama.
Our adopted daughter is black. My wife did not want her to be putting harsh chemicals in her hair, especially as a child.
Eventually, she wound up helping my daughter grow what are called sister-locks. It takes a LOT of hair (it took years, but she has it), and maintenance is labor intensive, but the results get very positive reactions from other black women (some whom are astounded that my flaxen haired 1/2 Dutch wife can do a good job on it).
Rarely do women like the hair they are given. If they have long straight blonde hair, they want it to be wavy. If they are brunette, they want to be blonde or chestnut. They buy curling irons, flattening irons, and devices in between. where the final result in a family with a lot of girls can rival the DeWalt power tool collection on a well-outfitted handy man’s work bench.
Well, someone needs to tell Big Mike to shut up. Kudos to Sage Steele for stepping up to the job.
LOL!
Or surgeons. Or judges....
No one - NO ONE - craves personal style advice from The Mooch.
The NERVE! OFF WITH HIS HEAD!
I’m a former blonde, now gray-haired woman of Celtic ancestry & I inherited my father’s wavy/curly hair. About 7 yrs ago I finally embraced my natural hair instead of fighting it & now I wear my hair curly. The pressure to straighten textured hair is just as prevalent in Caucasian women with the reasoning being curly hair isn’t professional. Ppl seem to be scared of wild & crazy hair like mine that doesn’t look the same 2 days in a row. If it ever becomes law, the Crown Act needs to be inclusive.
Nobody is forcing them to straighten their hair.
Lots of women try to change their hair. White women straighten it, too, and lots get perms to curl it if it’s too straight.
Eurocentric beauty standards my foot.......
