Lots of women try to change their hair. White women straighten it, too, and lots get perms to curl it if it’s too straight.

My grandmother Memere use to give myself and my sisters Toni perms just before Easter Sunday! LOL… after all the torture….frizzy. We all had straight blond and brunette hair. My Memere managed to style our frizz with rag curls so we looked great for Mass on Sunday. Love her and memory of my Memere!
