I’m in SW Wisconsin and we just suffered through 2 full weeks of sub-zero temps. I can only imagine that it’s been a BIT more ‘frozen’ up in Canada these past few weeks, too.

Our lowest low was -18. It was ugly. Haven’t had winter weather like this in a decade.

Bring on the Global Warming, Baby! :)

I'm slightly S of you in Iowa, and this January has been a concentrated misery of sub-freezing temperatures and poor driving conditions. This after the various post-Thanksgiving 2025 Weather Crapfests.

If a person around here had any latent Seasonal Affective Disorder lurking in them, they know about it now.

Niagara Falls is at 43.08 degrees north. I don’t know exactly where you are but I would guess very close to that latitude. Dubuque Iowa is at 42.5 degrees north as a reference. The New York-Ontario border goes north south along the Niagara river rather than east west like most of the US Canada border does.

You should come vacation in tropical Idaho. We’re having highs in the 50s right now.

-18, whoa...
Here in PA we’ve had about 2 weeks of very wicked temps, single digits at night and daytime highs in the ‘teens at best.
Then we got that snow last Sunday, about 12 inches even though the temperature was very low. I’ve never seen it snow when the thermometer reads well under 20.
We’ve been feeling very sorry for ourselves here. How in the world does anyone deal with -18 deg??

Somehow Washington State still has normal temps and zero snow. We’ve had awful years too, but this one is a real cream puff.

The best that’ll do is -16 in 100 years.
