I'm 82...and the cold is colder for us old folks...believe me.
You need a down coat a lot more than I do. Mom gave me my coat when I lived in Oklahoma. I think I’m wearing it more this winter than the previous 5.
I also had a very pretty knee-length red wool coat, but I gave it too a mission going to Ukraine about 15 years ago. On the rare occasions it was cold enough to wear it, I was pregnant and couldn’t button it.

Older than you are and weigh 112. No fat to keep me warm, so I wear layers, even under my down coat. Live alone so cat and I cuddle in bed, never get cold.
