That actually happened to me about 30 years ago here in West Orlando. I think it was part of a hostile attitude by the contractor building a house next door; why hostile I don't know. Maybe my elderly mother said something he didn't like. ❓
I called the electric company to remove it but they replied that that was where the blueprint showed to place the pole. I sort of shrugged that off and replied that I was a retired electrician; I said that I could disconnect the wires safely from the pole (there was no transformer mounted) and, since the pole was on my right of way, I would cut it down to use it in a project I was planning in my back yard.
In less than two days the pole was gone! 👌😄
I got even with the contractor when he excavated the front yard for a septic tank. I called county code enforcement and objected that the drain field would be within distance limits on both sides prohibited if there was an existing water well on adjacent property. (actually neither well was currently in use since city water had been installed.) The contractor had to reroute the drains to the back yard.
Now I actually am using my well again, but only for emergency supply if needed - and a small bit of irrigation in the front yard. Still, I am glad there will be no sewage in the water if we need it in an emergency to cook or whatever.
