This month, the U.S. Judicial Conference issued new ethics guidelines, a publication that rarely attracts attention beyond a small circle of legal nerds. These guidelines, however, are not just the usual tweaks on rules governing free meals or travel. They include a new policy that could materially alter the character of the American courts, allowing judges to engage in commentary to rebut what they deem “illegitimate forms of criticism and attacks.” It is not just injudicious, it is dangerous.
Over two centuries ago, the Framers had to sell the Constitution to skeptical states leery about yielding power to a central government, including federal courts. In Federalist #78, Alexander Hamilton sought to put these fears aside and assured the states that the federal judiciary is “the least dangerous to the political rights of the Constitution; because it will be least in a capacity to annoy or injure them.”
While judges often reflect the ideological views of the presidents who nominated them, they have largely followed rigid rules that have prevented them from engaging in political commentary. Judges are expected to address the legal issues in their opinions and leave political commentary to others regarding the implications or basis of those opinions.
It has not been a perfect system. Recently, some of us have criticized judges who have made overtly political statements in their opinions or in public. The deviation from the traditional line of judicial silence has grown in recent years.

America First Legal (AFL) has filed an amended complaint in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida, Tampa Division, in its case challenging the U.S. Census Bureau’s unlawful use of statistical methods in the 2020 Census.
AFL’s amended complaint hones its claims to show that the Bureau’s COVID-19 pandemic-related decisions to suspend or alter standard agency procedures crossed the line and caused inaccurate results. The complaint emphasizes that the most significant change accompanying these revisions was a sharp increase in the use of imputation, a statistical method that uses someone else’s data to fill in a missing person’s information.
According to the Census Bureau’s own report, approximately 10.9 million people were imputed in the 2020 Census — nearly double the number imputed in the 2010 Census. At the same time, the Bureau reported statistically significant undercounts, including in Florida, where the population was undercounted by approximately 3.48 percent or roughly 760,000 people. These results are unreasonable.
AFL argues that the Bureau substituted imputation for real data collection and that this practice violated the U.S. Constitution’s Enumeration Clause and federal statutes, including the Administrative Procedure Act. AFL shows that the Bureau’s decision to use imputation rather than actual enumeration led to significant errors that affected congressional apportionment and state redistricting.

As the 2026 midterm elections draw closer, the United States Department of Justice — under the leadership of Pam Bondi— is reportedly preparing a sweeping civil rights investigation into states whose election systems have allowed non-citizens to be placed on voter registration rolls, a move that could set up a major federal-state clash just months before Election Day.
This possible probe comes amid an intensifying nationwide push by the DOJ to acquire detailed voter registration data from states — including unredacted lists that critics say could reveal non-citizens registered to vote. The department has already sued more than two dozen states that have refused to hand over full voter files and sensitive personal details, generating repeated court battles.
Over the past year, DOJ attorneys have demanded complete voter rolls — including dates of birth and other identification data — from states across the country in what officials assert is an effort to enforce federal voting laws and ensure compliance with voter eligibility requirements.
When states such as Michigan, Oregon and California balked, federal courts initially refused to compel compliance, ruling that the laws DOJ has cited don’t explicitly require disclosure of full voter data.

It also has a national profile — in recent months, mainstream media have referenced the group when reporting on vaccine-related issues.

And according to its “statement of independence,” AFV is not influenced by its funders or outside entities.

The Department of Justice announced on February 10 that 65-year-old Yaoning “Mike” Sun, of Chino Hills, California had been sentenced to 48 months in federal prison, saying that Sun had acted as an illegal agent “while serving as the campaign advisor for a political candidate who was elected to the city council of a Southern California city.”
The candidate, identified only as “Individual 1” by the Department of Justice, has been named as Arcadia Mayor Eileen Wang in multiple reports. Wang and Sun were engaged for a time, and Sun served as a campaign advisor for Wang’s 2022 campaign for Arcadia City Council, with Wang ultimately winning that November’s election.
Per CBS News, Wang had commented on her relationship with Sun during a December 2022 council meeting, “To my fiancé, Mike Sun, who walked streets with me every single day, who is a real leader of me.” After Sun was charged, Wang claimed in September 2025, “No. 1, he’s not my fiancé. Whoever wants to say he’s my former fiancé, please prove it.”
The DOJ said that between 2022 and early 2024, Sun “knowingly acted within the United States as an agent of the PRC and officials of its government – without notifying the Attorney General, as required by US law.”
Sun, who pleaded guilty in October 2025, worked “At the direction and control of PRC government officials” to coordinate “with US-based individuals to promote the PRC’s interests by, among other things, ‘orchestrat[ing]’ a team to help elect a politician identified in court documents as ‘Individual 1’ to political office and promoting pro-PRC propaganda in the United States.”

On Monday, the Washington State House Democrats voted to raid $4 billion from the law enforcement and firefighter pension plan to cover their deficit caused by out-of-control spending. Democrats in the Washington State House of Representatives have approved House Bill 2034, authorizing the transfer of approximately $2.5 billion, with projections of up to $4 billion over time, from the Law Enforcement Officers’ and Fire Fighters’ (LEOFF) Plan 1 retirement system. The legislation passed on a 55–39 vote, with every Republican voting against it.
House Republican Budget Leader Rep. Travis Couture, R-Allyn, blasted majority Democrats during floor debate, characterizing the proposal as a “$4 billion cash grab” from pension funds promised to retired police officers and firefighters. “We look forward to hearing from you, ah, about how we can be more helpful.”
Zelensky wrote that he used the meeting to express gratitude for American backing.
“I thanked the United States for its strong bipartisan support and work for peace,” he said.
Pressure Campaign Against Russia
President Donald Trump has been working to broker peace between Russia and Ukraine.
However, as Trump continues to work to bring the war to an end, the conflict remains unresolved.
Zelensky emphasized to the senators that continued pressure on Moscow is essential.
“We see no better tools to influence Moscow than pressure,” Zelensky wrote.
“There is an important sanctioning act in the Senate right now, and we expect it to work.”
He also described ongoing Russian attacks and called for using frozen Russian assets to buy missiles for Ukraine’s military.
“I also informed them about the constant Russian strikes on our people and, in particular, on American businesses as well,” Zelensky added.
“It is absolutely fair that Russian money should be used to defend against this terror, and we discussed the prospects of utilizing immobilized Russian assets to purchase missiles for the Patriot systems.”

He was beaten to death by far-left extremists in France while he was providing security for women activists.

Quentin was part of a group of men that had offered to provide security for the women activists.
Suddenly a group of far-left antifa extremists ambushed and attacked them on the street. Quentin and two other men were surrounded and kicked and beaten. Two of the men managed to flee, but Quentin was left beaten to the ground and sustained fatal brain trauma.
Antifa beat the young man, kicked him and used improvised weapons such as iron bars.
The injuries were catastrophic, as highlighted by the prosecutor in Lyon where the attack took place.
Quentin was beaten ”beyond all therapeutic means”.
Two of those arrested have connections with a Socialist politician that is a sitting politician in the French National Assembly. This politician represents the Socialist LFI party. This party claims to be democratic Socialist and eco-Socialist.
One of those arrested for the attack is a parliamentary assistant to this Socialist politician. Another who was arrested is a former intern for the same Socialist politician.
For years now the media has constantly talked about the far-right. Meanwhile they have completely ignored the dangers of the far-left, so they have been allowed to operate without much scrutiny.

This concern for psychological issues apparently does not extend to the trauma of witnessing the murder of innocent Israelis, however.
“I think at some point you can’t ignore the injustice that continues to happen in Palestine and not think there is going to be consequences,” Akkad said during an October 8, 2023, pro-Palestinian protest in New York City.
“You can’t keep two million people locked up in a cage, denying their freedom, and expect them to be peaceful,” he told the Daily Mail. “It doesn’t work that way.”
Achmat Akkad works at the NYC Dept. of Health and Mental Hygiene. He was arrested in 2024 for pro-Hamas agitation.
On Oct. 8, 2023, Akkad took to the streets to cheer on the massacre and told the Daily Mail that he had “no sympathy” for the Israeli civilians Hamas killed.
