What began as a family train ride through Europe quickly escalated into a chilling confrontation for two American tourists from Alabama and their daughters aboard a train traveling from Brussels to Bruges.
According to the family, the ordeal unfolded after a man—described as intoxicated—initiated a conversation that took a political turn when he discovered they were from the United States. The man reportedly demanded their opinion about U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
The family declined to engage.

Video footage captured during the chaos includes cries for help: “Help us, there’s a man with a knife.”
Authorities were alerted, and the train was evacuated at Brussels-Midi station. Belgian police quickly detained and questioned the suspect.
However, according to the Brussels public prosecutor’s office, no weapon was recovered—either on the individual or aboard the train. The suspect was subsequently released.

Last week, in Fort Bend ISD, a Kuwaiti student joined protests chanting, “There’s no human illegal on stolen land,” a common chant among Houston area protesters, The Houston Chronicle reported.
Dallas ISD students also walked out of class on Tuesday, chanting, “No Trump, no ICE, no fascists on our streets. “Dallas Police and Dallas ISD officers stood by,” KERA News reported.
Student protests continue after the Texas Education Agency issued guidance stating, “schools risk losing daily attendance funding if they allow or encourage students to walk out of class. Teachers that facilitate walk outs will be subject to investigation and sanction including licensure revocation. School systems that facilitate walkouts will be subject to investigation and sanction, including either the appointment of a monitor, conservator or board of managers.”
Austin ISD is under investigation after parents complained and the Texas Public Policy Foundation posted videos and pictures of hundreds of students holding profanity-laced signs marching in downtown Austin appearing to be escorted by AISD police. AISD said students from 14 campuses weren’t in school participating in a non-district sponsored walkout. It said in Spanish they were exercising their First Amendment right.
Its superintendent said parents were notified but one parent said his AISD middle school son “didn’t decide to protest;” classes were cancelled. “Teachers held the doors open. Everyone left. No one notified me before, during, or after. My son and a few hundred others walked 5 miles to the capitol and back, unsupervised.” He also said he filed complaints.

“President Trump and Secretary [Linda] McMahon are demanding full transparency around the foreign dollars flowing into America’s colleges and universities,” White House spokeswoman Liz Huston told TCS. “Exposing these foreign ties protects the integrity of academic research and safeguards our national security.”
In 2025, U.S. institutions reported more than $5.2 billion in foreign funding across more than 8,300 transactions. Since 2015, colleges and universities have disclosed $67.6 billion in foreign gifts and contracts, with Harvard University reporting the highest total. The funding originates from 220 countries, led by Qatar, China and Germany.
Under federal law, institutions must disclose foreign gifts and contracts valued at $250,000 or more. The federal government estimates, however, that only about 60% of foreign transactions are reported accurately and on time.

Major Swiss City Moves to Mandate Euthanasia in All Hospitals and Care Homes
Switzerland’s largest city is advancing a policy that would require hospitals and retirement homes to begin facilitating “assisted suicide” in an aggressive expansion of euthanasia that critics warn could transform a once-optional practice into a systemwide obligation.
Officials in the Swiss canton of Zurich are backing a proposal that would mandate tolerance of so-called “assisted suicide” across retirement and nursing homes, according to reporting from Swissinfo.
The requirement would apply broadly to care facilities, though psychiatric institutions and prisons would be excluded.
Under the proposal, every qualifying care home would be compelled to allow assisted suicide on its premises.
It marks a sharp shift from earlier rules that limited the practice to facilities operating under specific municipal service mandates.
That previous framework had allowed some religious-affiliated homes to refuse participation based on moral or faith-based objections.
The new approach removes that distinction, however, effectively forcing even institutions that oppose euthanasia to permit it within their walls.

Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche made the administration’s stance unmistakably clear in a post on X:
“Judges don’t pick U.S. Attorneys, @POTUS does,” Blanche wrote.
“See Article II of our Constitution.
“You are fired, Donald Kinsella.”

Introduce yourself and mention credentials that you might have. Address it to the person you see as the most likely responsible. No fakebook, no X, no interweb mumbo jumbo,. A quick phone call is OK just to register an initial comment but back that up with a hard copy letter. Anybody can ignore an email but bureaukrats can’t really hide a pile of snail mail.
I always mention the part of my experience base that might qualify me to run my mouth on the subject. Seems to help.
For my own part I nearly always get replies. The only exception that comes to mind has been security related concerns. Those tend to go dark as they should.
A few months back I wrote Trump about restoring tree/timber harvesting in the Pacific Northwest. I reminded him he’s the man and can get it done. Early on he seemed unaware of the problem but now he knows. Got a nice reply a couple days ago saying he’s working on it. COOL!
