“Squad” Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) has announced that there are plans to have “legal observer” trainings and “teach-ins” in New York City. This comes as there has been an ICE surge in Minnesota, as well as the shootings of Renee Good and Alex Pretti, both of whom were impeding law enforcement at the time of their deaths.
During a recent town hall event, Ocasio Cortez was seen in footage from Freedom News TV saying, “There’s the legal observer community, which is, if you see that ICE is active in your community, knowing the things that you can do legally, to observe, to film, to take notes, without being deemed as impeding law enforcement and how you do these things.”

Washington Post CEO and publisher Will Lewis announced Saturday that he’s leaving the paper after widespread lay-offs occurred earlier this week.
Lewis revealed his decision in an email to the Post’s staff, the Associated Press reported.

The rally was held on the same day as the anniversary of Iran’s 1979 anti-monarchy revolution.
Thousands of people protested Saturday in Berlin in support of Iranians’ nationwide protests against their government that began late last year but was repressed by a violent and deadly crackdown.
The protests started in response to the collapse of the country’s monetary system and related economic hardships but quickly turned political. The Berlin rally was held on the same day as the anniversary of Iran’s 1979 anti-monarchy revolution, according to Reuters.
Berlin police say roughly 10,000 people gathered early at Berlin’s Brandenburg Gate and that 20,000 had registered to attend.
Organizers said the expected crowd was 100,000, but thousands were unable to attend because their flights were canceled due to weather. Among those whose flights were canceled was former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo.
Police later said around 10,000 people filled the streets.
The event was supported by 344 organizations and political figures, organizers also said.
