MINNEAPOLIS — Gov. Tim Walz confirmed the Minnesota National Guard will deploy to support local authorities after Hennepin Co. Sheriff Dawanna Witt formally requested the assistance of the National Guard.
Later Saturday afternoon, the city of Minneapolis also requested support from the Minnesota National Guard to "help local police and emergency personnel protect community safety" in the area around Saturday's fatal shooting "and at other posts as needed."

Trump should take command of the Minnesota National Guard now, just to be on the safe side.
Now is the hour.......it will not take long for PDJT to take command of the MNG and expand its deployment.

Articles of impeachment for Gov exist...but can’t be introduced until 17 Feb (opening of legislative season). I expect this period to take 4 to 6 weeks, as testimony/evidence is introduced. GOP control Minn House...but as it goes to the Minn Senate, that’s slight majority of Dems....so it’ll end there.
I would guess maximum intensity for Antifa/riots to be mid-Feb to mid-Mar...with US Army protecting state house building/participants.

Tough question, we will know before the day ends what the likely outcome will be in the short run. I remember the Detroit riots in ‘67 that president LBJ call in the both the 82nd and 101st Airborne divisions and MI governor Romney (Sr) called in the Michigan National Guard. If this is any indication perhaps the sitting president has ultimate control.
One might think that the US Army might have a wee bit of say over a NG unit of any state.

They weren’t worrying about public safety when the late lamented Good was in the middle of the road obstructing traffic and justice. My bet is that they are hoping for a clash between the guard and ICE.
