Canadian military chiefs have wargamed a US invasion and concluded that they would be overpowered in only two days.
Canada’s resistance would rely upon insurgency tactics similar to those deployed by the Mujahideen in Afghanistan in the fight against the Soviet Union, according to reports.
Under the plans, which officials stressed were precautionary and hypothetical, forces would use asymmetric tactics whereby a weaker army attempts to counter a dominant force. Canada would rely on drone warfare and would also request assistance from European allies, namely the former imperial powers Britain and France. (snip)
Canadian military positions on land and at sea would be overcome in as little as two days, leaving an insurgency‑style campaign including ambushes and “hit‑and‑run tactics” as the only option, the report said.
Canada’s military is dwarfed by the US armed forces, having only 63,500 active duty personnel as of 2024 while the US has 1.3 million.

In respect to Canada’s Army, Air Force and Navy they are first class. Particularly their army snipers. The problem is they are minimalism in size relative to their economic ability to support a much greater force.
It should be noted that the GDP of Canada and Russia is almost the same. Why is Russia a great power and Canada is not. Both have the economic ability to support great armies, aircraft, missiles, ships, and atomic weapons. Canada has failed.

I think it is probably because Canada knows that an attack on Canada would be viewed pretty much as an attack on the USA. Also, Russia has and will continue to be a country that is expansionist in nature. Canadians seem pretty content to keep to themselves.
You’re right about this. Nobody is invading anyone in the Western Hemisphere. Our (when I say our, I’m talking about people from the Western Hemisphere) problem is crime, not military invasion. North and South America are the worst about criminal activity outside of South Africa.
