Wacky: Tucker Carlson Newsletter Sparks Fury Over Iran Nuclear Comments

A new edition of Tucker Carlson’s newsletter is drawing sharp backlash after he argued that an Iranian nuclear weapon could ultimately be a stabilizing force in the Middle East, prompting critics to accuse him of echoing narratives friendly to the Islamic Republic.

In the essay, Carlson reportedly contends that the chances Tehran would ever launch a nuclear strike are effectively zero, describing the use of such a weapon as “suicidal” for any regime. He contrasts that with the United States, noting it is the only country to have used nuclear weapons in war, and suggests Washington treats that history as a point of pride. Carlson goes on to argue that North Korea’s nuclear arsenal has “stabilized” the Korean Peninsula by deterring outside interventions, and poses the question of whether an Iranian bomb might produce a similar effect in its region.

He speculates that a nuclear-armed Iran could push the United States to scale back its presence in the Middle East, pressure Israel to reconsider its security posture in Gaza and the West Bank, and even make Tehran less repressive at home by reducing fears of regime change.

Those claims have provoked outrage among many pro-Israel and Iranian dissident voices, who note that the same regime is currently accused of massacring thousands of its own citizens for protesting corruption, economic collapse, and clerical rule. Carlson’s critics say his framing minimizes the scale of the crackdown and ignores the risks of placing nuclear weapons in the hands of a government that has violently suppressed dissent, armed regional militias, and repeatedly threatened Israel.

Some opponents describe the newsletter as moving beyond mere contrarianism into open advocacy for adversarial regimes, warning that treating an Iranian bomb as a net positive undermines efforts to confront both Tehran’s human-rights abuses and its nuclear ambitions. The controversy adds to a growing list of foreign-policy positions from Carlson that have divided conservatives and alarmed U.S. allies abroad.

Tucker is just expressing the view of younger conservatives who are tired of pumping money into these various overseas military actions. Iran is no threat to the US and only threatens Israel’s regional hegemony. If Israel wants to continue on it’s current course let them do it on their own dime. The US is over $38T in debt and we can’t be financing them anymore.

Iran with nukes would be as destabilizing to the Middle East as Tucker forgetting his toupee would destabilize his show.

“”In the essay, Carlson reportedly contends that the chances Tehran would ever launch a nuclear strike are effectively zero, describing the use of such a weapon as “suicidal” for any regime.””

***

Problem with Carlson’s lack of logic here is... the Iranian mullahs ARE suicidal. Their recent threats to Trump that they will “set fire to their world” if he interfered in the mass slaughter of their own people who are protesting proves it. How, exactly, would they manage to set fire to our world without nukes? Hint: they already have it.

But it is nice to know that Carlson is willing to gamble the world’s demise on his “hunch and opinion”, though. Carlson is a legend in his own mind, only. He is effectively marginalizing himself and further destroying his credibility, what little is left... but he isn’t bright enough to know it. One thing’s for sure... the pay must be VERY good that he’s getting for being a pro-Iran propagandist.

“”Oh, and of course, there’s warmonger-in-chief Benjamin Netanyahu, who insists that “there is only one difference between Nazi Germany and the Islamic Republic of Iran… [Iran] is first seeking atomic weapons and, once it has them, will then start a world war.””

“”It’s strange how Washington considers that a point of pride.””

“”The forces pushing for an American invasion of Iran need the public to believe that Ali Khamenei acquiring a nuke would create an Armageddon. It’s their only way to pretend the “threat” of a nuclear Iran, not their longing to install a puppet regime in Tehran, is what’s driving their lust for war. “”

***

Tucker-rhymes-with Carlson keeps speaking up and removing all doubt. And those of us that had his number all along and stated as much and were attacked and mocked for it now have egg-face (or worse).

His anti-America and anti-Israel cracks are still being spewed, but some folks are finally catching on. Better late than never.

But the BS propaganda that Carlson is spewing will convince other ‘slow/small-minded’ minions that Iran deserves to have nukes. Just because they have threatened the US (the great Satan) and Israel (the little Satan) with destruction and that “wiping off the face of the earth” schtick...

doesn’t mean they really mean it. Right???

“Iran is no threat to the US and only threatens Israel’s regional hegemony”

how damn stupid are you? Or do you just hate Jews and Israel?

Iran has caused us no end of grief since the 1970s. Their war with Iraq had a million dead, IIRC. Their religious views are not sane. Many of their religious leaders - who run the country - want the end of the world.

Nor do we “finance Israel”. Most of the money we give them is spent in the USA. Unlike the money - equal in amount - we give to Egypt and Jordan.

And our debt is NOT caused by our military or our spending on foreign aid. That amount was $82 billion last year. That is less than our Medicare FRAUD. Heck, our Earned Income Tax fraud runs $18 billion.

I have no problem cutting foreign aid back, but stop pretending we pay all the bills for Israel. We’re currently planning on spending under $4 billion a year to Israel - and 75% of that gets spent in the USA.

Next week Carlson will recommend that every country in the world have nukes.

That would guarantee world peace forever.

Lol.

Ignoring Carlson completely is the best way to disarm him.

I do not like using this source—but you stated a number—and they have different numbers.

So here it is:

So, let’s distribute nuclear weapons to every insane dictator, let’s see what happens next. If that’s Carlson’s position, then he should be the first to the newly minted mental institutions opened under Trump’s newest executive order.

Only the indoctrinated and senile boomers still want to shovel money to Israel while the US heads into bankruptcy. But they are quickly dying off and the more sensible younger conservatives will soon take over. There’s lots of Zionist billionaires who could take over the funding of Israel but they prefer using their money to bribe US politicians to use US taxpayers money instead. This must end and the sooner the better.

Trump has said Hamas would not have ended Gaza war without the Us destruction of Iran nuclear program . Also I haven’t heard a lot about the Yemeni proxies who were making a lot of noise there for a while ( maybe it’s just not being covered.) Seems Tucker should take off his thinking cap and open his eyes.

Just like the Rosenbergs argued about giving nukes to Russia (and other countries).

Nice, Tucker. Interesting theory. But what if you’re wrong? It’s happened before. And then 2-5 million people are dead. Oops.

Many decades ago I got a MBA from a well known university.

One rule they taught us was that the way to get rich and stay rich is to use other people’s money.

Billionaires totally get that—it is one reason why they are billionaires.

If somebody is trying to get you to use your money to do what they want—don’t give them time to give you ten thousand reasons—just run!

It seems they taught you well. Too bad many of the others on this forum don’t seem to get it.

I have been trying to identify what is happening around here—and I think I figured it out.

We have too many sheep and not enough wolves.

It’s not advocacy for an adversary. It’s an opinion.

Oh, yes, of course...
