One question. What does this marvel do when it encounters a pile of dog sh#t? Asking for a friend.

I have a Luba 2 AWD robotic lawnmower and it is wonderful. It can handle 38 degree slopes and mows perfectly.

Yes, I needed to mow down the leafy spurge, Canadian thistle, poisonous hemlock and long grass before it could do it’s job correctly — but I have 3/4 acre that is well trimmed and I do not spend $350.00 (or more) each season on:

Leafy spurge beetles ($350)

Canadian thistle mites ($400)

Hemlock weevils ($500)

Was it expensive? YES.

Has it saved me 100 hours of mowing in the last two years? YES!

If it dies I will buy another one immediately.

As an aside, in 2024 I purchased a Honda lawnmower as it was the last run of gas powered lawnmowers Honda would produce (now electric is the new deal). After 15 hours of use (I put an hour meter on it) it began smoking in May of 2025...

It’s still in the shop with the piston on back-order. I’m using my (now) 27 year old Honda mower for long grass and weeds prior to expanding the range of the Luba 2 AWD.

I need both lawnmowers on my acreage (sloped land on the side of a mountain) to serve my purposes, Honda has told me they will have a solution for me by May.

They’re all junk for real yard work. Just look at the blades.

After thouroughly researching robot lawnmowers, I determined that any of the lot was unsuitable for my lawn.

They require a very short interval between mowings. They function best in large lawns unencumbered with irregularities.

I ended up purchasing a EGO battery powered self, propelled mower that is a truly amazing piece of workmanship. Ir replaces the EGO battery powered push mower that had become difficult to handle. Ie is six years ols and nearly good as new

Eufy, EZIVIZ Now Wyse Chinese Security Camera Exposed For Snooping

The article uses both the spelling "Wyse" and "Wyze".

"Wyse" was a venerable dumb terminal company, eventually bought out by Dell.

I always go self propelled for lawnmowers. Gasoline versions so far. I am glad your electric self propelled is performing well at 6 years. Your batteries were were built.

I have pine trees that drop pinecones and oak trees that drop dead branches. The hurricanes blew off most of the Spanish moss, but I’m sure in a few years it will return in massive amounts.

My neighbor has a 200-foot-long fence to the east and the drainage ditch is on the western side of my lawn.

I was using my neighbor’s 40V lawnmower to mow his lawn. At the end of the season, I was mainly using my self-propelled gas mower.

I would expect a robot lawnmower to be useful for about a third of the lawn work that I need to get done.

The battery was replaced with a new one at about 4 years. The battery also functions with the backpack leaf blower.

Many here resist switching to electric battery power, but that is in fact the state of the art. EGO was an early leader in electric yard tools but all have followed the lead and have brought battery powered machines to market.

“They require a very short interval between mowings”

When I was a little kid, one of my older brothers kept breaking the lawnmower. Dear old dad got a little pissed off, and with the help of a buddy, got yet another lawnmower.

A manual, push type reel mower. Old School. No gasoline required. Dad was like “Don’t let it get too long, you know ..” I thought my brother was gonna cry. LOL

EGO batteries are not good. No battery management. For light use, probably OK

Personally, I like the exercise and bagging the grass clippings. Our yard abuts a pasture so during the summer, I feed the cattle.

I would love a robot lawn mower. But then again, I have loads of fun driving my riding mower like I’m on a race track.

I bought a Ryobi electric lawn mower last year and it was a game changer. I was exhausted after mowing my yard with my non-propelled gas mower. The Ryobi can easily handle the steep ditch I used to have to pay someone to mow. And it handles the rest of my yard with ease. It's all wheel drive although you can run it in two wheel drive for the majority of the time.
