On Friday’s broadcast of CNN International’s “The Brief,” CNN Senior Correspondent Josh Campbell discussed the video of the shooting in Minneapolis and said that while officers are trained not to step in front of vehicles, “it appears, from other vantage points, that he was likely struck by that car, and so, under policy, an agent can articulate, I felt my life was in danger, I opened fire. But there are big questions based on the angle where he was, were there other options, could he have jumped out of the way? That’s a big question.”
Campbell said, “[H]e puts himself in front of that vehicle, and I’ll tell you, law enforcement officers are trained, essentially, not to put yourself in that situation. That’s training that happens from coast to coast in this country. But the moment that she then turns the wheel and begins to drive forward, it appears, from other vantage points, that he was likely struck by that car, and so, under policy, an agent can articulate, I felt my life was in danger, I opened fire. But there are big questions based on the angle where he was, were there other options, could he have jumped out of the way? That’s a big question.”

On ice!
and Michael Byrd could have shot Ashlii in the leg instead of killing her..instead he murdered her and got a congressional medal for doing it..gee how the storyline changes when its one of their own
Here’s an idea, he told her to get out of the car, she should have GOTTEN OUT OF THE DAMN CAR..see how simple that is, ya know, following a command
Oh yeah, he just stood there and was determined to “take one for the team.” He didnt have that much time. An accelerating car was coming at him.
Quick questions for the dipshits on CNN panels...
Q#1: If the ICE agent would have been killed and she lived would she have been charged with murder? That answer is obviously YES. So at the very least she could have been charged with attempted murder if they both would have survived.
Q2: Are federal officers allowed to use their weapon against someone who’s trying to murder them? Another YES answer to that one too.
So, according to that, the shooting was completely justified. Sorry CNN, you’re wrong again.
That is the correct option.
Attorney “shipwreckedcrew” (Bill Shipley) gives a lawsplainer on the issues in the shooting. It’s worth a read.
“The Image above proves the ICE Officer was justified in his decision to use deadly force. He had no obligation to step out of the way that would benefit her or subject him to prosecution. He had no obligation to allow her to drive away from an attempt to detain her after the Officer at the door of her car ordered her to stop and exit the vehicle.
ICE has two sets of law enforcement personnel — Special Agents who are criminal investigators, and deportation officers who process civil deportation cases. Special Agents are covered by GS-1811 series position with a general description of “criminal investigator.” They are armed and possess police powers to investigate and make arrests for any crime committed in their presence, as well as for the enforcement of all crimes under Title 8 of the United States Code — “Aliens and Nationality.” Within their authority are crimes under Title 18 such as “conspiracy” and “obstruction” that intefere with their enforcement of the provisions of Title 8.”
Remember the “knock out game? “ Too bad if the victim fell down and fractured skull, it was all just for fun
“CNN’s Question Is if He Could Have Jumped Away”
That’s not even relevant, Ms. Campbell.
No, dumbass CNN taking head.
The question is “Why was she there? Why was she harassing ICE agents and obstructing them for hours? Why did her lesbo partner urge her to ‘drive, baby, drive!’? It wasn’t to escape the officers, because said lesbo partner was outside of the vehicle. Why did lesbo partner immediately express her own guilt at having brought her partner to do what they were doing? “It’s my fault!”, she cried out; and, she was truthfully admitting her culpability in the incident.
Have you seen the now empty-skulled attempted murderer’s rap sheet? She has a long history of violence, and assault against police and children.
The question is, Mr CNN talking head, why are you lionizing an evil, wicked, horrible woman?
May ruin and destruction rain down from Heaven upon you and yours, and all others of your ilk.
Classic “blaming the victim”.
I’m sure CNN would be the first to say “That woman deserved to be raped — did you see how she was dressed?? She could have chosen a different outfit.”
CNN should go ask a rape victim if she could have dressed a little less provocatively.
AND, it is a direct result of the media misrepresenting the work ICE is doing, calling them NAZI and unlawful. YOU caused this. YOU are guilty. YOU will be judged.

He jumped as much as he could, but what the hell. If you leave when an agent tell you to get out of car. They should be able to shoot.
She could have also followed the lawful commands by the ICE agent and gotten out of the car when he ordered her to.
it doesn’t matter if he coulda
one she tried to hit him she’s guilty of attempted homicide and he has a right to defend himself.
could he have jumped out of the way?
= = =
Let’s say he was shot at with a gun.
Could he have jumped out of the way of those bullets?
You can hear the contact on the video. Idiots. What would have happened if he had puts hands on the hood and started walking backwards like the protestors?
The other officer was telling her to get out of the car so she was not free to drive away. At that point she was evading arrest. She had been obstructing their operations all day and they finally had enough and were going to arrest her.
