Tensions have been high in Minnesota, particularly after the Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) recent announcement that they’d be sending 2,000 ICE officers to the state.
After the January 7 shooting that killed a 37-year-old woman in Minneapolis, Governor Tim Walz responded in a press conference, calling for protestors to remain calm, and rejecting any further federal law enforcement be sent to the Twin Cities.
“I have a very simple message, Walz said, “We do not need any further help from the federal government. To Donald Trump and Kristi Noem, you’ve done enough.”
DHS Secretary Noem herself held two separate press conferences regarding the shooting, in both cases calling the driver’s actions a case of domestic terrorism. In response to calls for ICE officers to leave the state, Noem said her agency is simply enforcing laws that are on the books, and pointed to figures from recent operations.
“Since we have been here in recent weeks, we have arrested over 1,500 criminals off of the streets. Our law enforcement has arrested murderers, known and suspected terrorists, child pedophiles, and other brutal criminals that were protected here in this city. We should all work together to protect our citizens,” Secretary Noem said.
The governor called ICE operations a threat to public safety.
“What we’re seeing is the consequences of governance designed to generate fear, headlines, and conflict,” Walz said.
During the press conference, he took time to address protestors, whose anger he said he sympathized with, but called for them to remain peaceful, warning them against actions that could result in a further federal response.
“Do not take the bait,” Walz cautioned, “Do not allow them to deploy federal troops into here. Do not allow them to invoke the Insurrection Act..."

Feds to Walz, we don’t give a crap what you say.
no democrats heading to jail = democrats become more powerful...
That isn't your call to make.
The day has just begun. I actually can’t wait to hear what drivel he issues today. The “riding you hard” quote from yesterday is going to be difficult to top. I would rather some real burly men show up to drag him away in leg irons though.
He’s got his own troubles and this is a good distraction. As for the killing of this woman the left will run with it the same way they ran with covid and their ‘mostly peaceful’ demonstration. What they needed is another Kent State and this is close enough for them. The woman was a poet? More of a sacrificial lamb for the Walz crowd.
Nope.
They haven’t even started yet.
Noem: “FAFO!”
Timmmmmmmmy!
Lololol. In fairness the South Park kid seems sane but handicapped. This Timmmmy is just plain retarded.
The more we learn how corrupt, stupid and anti-America “Walz the
Democrat” is, the more we understand why Harris tapped him for VP.
These clowns “running” the states need to go. Completely unsuited for the task.
I don’t think there are any politicians out there that are as stupid, obnoxious and corrupt as Tampon Tim. Oh wait, I misspoke. There’s Swalwell, Omar, AOC, Newscum, Frey,..... jeez, the whole damn democrat party! Seriously, these people would give shrinks a headache. There isn’t one solution for any problem facing the nation that the dems have come up with. Their whole platform is anti-Trump, nothing else.
Feds to Walz:
We’re cleaning up your mess, so you might want to STFU.
CC
Like the typical interracial couple in a TV commercial where the husband is the idiot while the wife can do no wrong, Harris-Walz fits that profile except for the fact that in real life, they’re both idiots.
Dear Tom, we are going to need more counselors.
Walz and the commies incite citizens to interfere with the enforcement of bipartisan immigration laws.
It is one matter if you wish to protest or petition for a change in laws.
But when you are interfering in the enforcement of those laws, you are subject to arrest for aiding and abetting criminals.
