George Clooney has long been a critic of Donald Trump, but the outspoken liberal has now opened up about their former friendship and how it ended over politics, RadarOnline.com can reveal.
Clooney, 64 – who famously penned an op-ed urging ex-President Joe Biden to suspend his reelection campaign in hopes of Vice President Kamala Harris having better odds at defeating Trump, 79, in the 2024 election – noted he once knew the Republican president "very well" and considered him to be a "big goofball."
In a recent interview discussing his life and latest film, Jay Kelly, Clooney reflected on his former friendship with Trump.
"I knew him very well," Clooney recalled of the former reality star turned president. "He used to call me a lot, and he tried to help me get into a hospital once to see a back surgeon. I'd see him out at clubs and at restaurants."
"(Trump's) a big goofball," the Oscar winner added. "Well, he was. That all changed."
While the friendship between Clooney and Trump may have changed, the actor's blunt political takes have not.

FWIW this describes my Halifax NS son, who had to become a loyal subject of the Crown in order to keep his engineering/planning job. AFAIK he votes correctly, and in any case he has promised me that if the War of 1812 ever re-occurs, he'll leave and join his NBC side.

Like Robert DeNiro, he is a good actor. It is his arrogance and politics that suck.
That was the last movie of his I paid to see.
I had read the book, and was thrilled that a movie was being made about it, a story that should be told.
I was appalled at what they did with that movie. It should have been a dead serious movie, but they made it into some kind of ridiculous movie with those characters, and the stupid music that reminded me of the “Great Escape” movie when Steve McQueen has to go into the “cooler”. (It was fine for the Great Escape but seemed completely silly in Monuments Men.)
Argh. I cannot even sit through a Robert DeNiro movie anymore. I know...that’s on me.
Well I’m sort of glad the dims listened to him and dumped old Joe for Harris. That worked out well. Granted if Joe had remained he would have lost too but by dumping him it left some scars for the dims to deal with.

Along with Rob Reiner. He made a few decent movies back in the day but his politics were insufferable and obnoxious.

Clooney was stupid enough to go along with the plan.
His aunt and his mom were OK singers, one would suppose, but generally overrated otherwise...
Don’t forget to revoke his passport. Never let his ungrateful a$$ back into our country!
May he visit all of those no-go zones in a single night, or at least try to, without his body gueards. Then we will never have to read what he might have to say about anything ever again.
