I see this stuff heading in two directions. I expect to see both:

1) Video of President Trump receiving a bribe from Israel to commit crimes against humanity. Leftist US media will believe it, express outrage and demand violence in the streets.

2) Video of Bill Clinton and friends doing terrible things to underage girls. Leftist US media will laugh it off as cheap and phony and nothing will be done.

These AI videos are becoming commonplace. I’ve recently heard of a fake Michio Kaku video saying comet 3I/Atlas has been detected sending and receiving comms of some sort, with satellites seen docking and pulling away again. Youtube is flooded with them, and if you accidentally watch one, perhaps out of curiosity — a rhinoceros covered in barnacles — you’ll be fed dozens more.

The dilemma of our age: what is “real”? Not being able to trust that something is real (be it pictures, videos or audio) brings forth may persistent doubts and questions on many levels.

The solution is simple: it’s not VDH unless it’s from the Daily Signal channel.

Perhaps we should use this to teach a broader lesson. No one should trust what any strangers say, not even “the experts”, unless they show us their data collection methods and their findings are reproducible. Otherwise it’s just empty noise masquerading as knowledge.

The fake videos are part of a campaign to increase the noise to signal ratio so that people don't use alternative media as a source for information.

If you can't refute the argument - contaminate the source with calumny appearing to come from the source himself.

AI is looking to be straight from Satan the Great Deceiver.

People on various sites like Pinterest are putting up pics of AI clothing and selling them to people. When they get those clothes, if at all, they are cheesy junk that looks like one of those boxed Halloween costumes.

AI has now created another very dangerous level of fraud.

I hate it, and we are also paying for it in our power bills.

I have seen the videos and it’s easy to tell they are not real but, this is absolutely something that calls for laws to be made.

I saw an AI generated Thomas Sowell “video” and immediately clicked “Don’t recommend channel” If it is not their own channel, it is like AI anymore.

There was a bunch of this sort of fake AI slop in the past month or so pretending to be from Elon Musk. I haven't seen those in the last two weeks so he may have cracked down on them. VHD does say he has not be able to get YouTube or X to crack down on the ones impersonating himself.

This sort of thing is massively fraudulent and harmful to those being exploited. While new laws may be needed to combat it, I would prefer that YouTube and X require creators to openly identify themselves whenever they present their content as commentary from a public personality. At a minimum, they should release the creators identify to the public person who is be misrepresented upon request. A few lawsuits might put a check on this particular kind of deception.

There exists a similar run of videos claiming to originate from historian Dr. Susan Paine, who has released a successful series of YouTube lectures in collaboration with podcaster Dwarkesh Patel.

I think the author meant to say "Dr. Sarah Paine." And, yes, she's all over the place on Youtube.

Keep this in mind when any other conservative person is purported to say something out of character. Always look for a “watermark” that kinda certifies the video. VDH stated that the 6 that he spotted corrupting his message had flashed (like too fast for human to spot) a disclaimer.

Commie trash will exploit this success in damaging VDH’s message by doing the same to anyone else who engages in wrongthink.

AI is somewhat easy to spot. 1) they pronounce words wrong, 2) they never shut for a break 30. 3) they are on a loop of sorts, 4) they won’t look directly at you for long, if at all.

The ability to easily do believable fakes is a huge problem.

As it proliferate you won’t know who or what to believe causing chaos in the minds of people.

Thanks Climer for exposing this. Last week I watched a video of Victor Davis Hanson that did not look correct. I had to watch it carefully a few times to notice:
1. His eyeblinks were odd, not natural
2. His voice did not have his usual mannerism, pauses and inflections.
I then found this phrase buried deep in the More info area: "altered or synthetic content"

People are screwing up YouTube with their shite AI videos and now they are messing with Victor Davis Hanson.
