Almost lost a good friend to Guillain-Barré syndrome.

He only survived because he realized it was something really bad and went to a REAL hospital (instead of our local hospital) where they were quite familiar with Guillain-Barré and recognized that he had it and put him on a ventilator immediately. Saved his life. He became totally paralyzed.

He did fully recover.

I had one Shingrix vaccine, the first of the prescribed 2 my doctor wanted me to get. As soon as the needle cleared my skin, the skin above my upper lip started to feel hot. A minute later, it became hard to breathe, and that was increasing. I got the attention of the pharmacist where I was getting the vaccine and croaked “Can’t breathe”. She gave me a Benedryl tablet. We waited 20 minutes until the Bendryl cleared up the anaphylactic symptoms. Whew, that was a close one! Since then, I don’t want ANY vaccines.

Scary story. You don’t know whom to trust these days.
Doctors have malpractice insurance and just go on confidently giving RXs and orders to have patients get shots. If it doesn’t work out, we are the losers and they pay off the insurance as always.

Ive had neuropathy in hands for about 10 uears now- due to chemo. It hasnt gotten any worse, but did get worse in the feet. Ive tried all the suggestions for it like alpha lipoic acid, bentfotiamine, etc- nothing helps unfortunatdky.

When it started in feet, about a year before i got the chemo, it first felt like 1000 tiny bees stinging the feet, the. It progressed to tingling, then to numbness after the chemo- i suppoxe it was gwtting there before the chemo, but it got sped up by it. Never had it in hands though till during the chemo.

No fun thats for sure.

I had to have an arm numbed to remove tumor once, doc gave me choice, genersl or local anesthesia- i chose the local- long story short- lost the use of the arm for a few days. Couldnt use it at all- it was the weirdest and most helpless feeling it wasź-

The fella in town is going through hell id imsgine with loss of both arms-

Had it on the right side of my head in 2015. Nearly reached my eye, and did reach my ear causing 25% hearing loss. After the shingles started clearing up the post-herpetic neuralgia started. Shingles was very bad, PHN is torture. 10 years later, I’m sitting here with a ringing right ear and stabbing/itching pain in my face. I took the Shingrix shots. Rather be dead than go through that again.

I had never gotten the flu vaccine, and

Just a certain flu.

So every time I was asked, I said no.

The aching was constant.
Very annoying.

My hubby got shingles not too long ago.

Knew what I was looking at the morning he woke up with it because I had cared for his mom.

Got him an appointment that morning, got an antiviral for it.

He had a few days of minor discomfort, nothing compared to what his mom experienced.

He hasn’t had it since.

He isn’t interested in the vaxx when the antiviral worked well for him.

I’m only vaguely aware that those are probably over-the-counter easy to find.

I know I eat too much sugar.
I used to have either ice cream and milk or cookies and milk almost every night.
Lately it’s been both almost every night.
I have a new plan in place
Only eat sweet stuff on holidays. There’s a lot of of them.
Sometimes two a month if you count days like MLK.
I’m starting my third day without sweets.
Plus, I now look forward to all holidays.

But I never thought about checking my blood sugar level with something diabetic use that they can get over-the-counter.

I too am a sugar addict - specifically CHOCOLATE. Can cut it out and leave it alone for a few days/nights but the minute I give in, it starts all over again. Have had tests for sugar with no negative result..

I also treat myself to Dixie Cups of ice cream - one chocolate and one Vanilla after the evening meal and cleanup is done...I ration myself on both chocolate and ice cream and I can stick to that. Don’t like a guilty conscience so I restrict myself.

I am supporting you whether or not it looks like it...LOL Keep at it!! We’ll lick ‘em yet!
