Daughter and SIL announced their first yesterday on Christmas; they found out on Tuesday. She can’t stand Karoline, thinks she’s a gold-digger in what used to be called a May-December marriage, so I’m looking forward to telling mi hija what she and Karoline have in common 🙂

That said, she is 28 y/o. Like most Millenials, they love to post personal business online, and share with the world.
Some might prefer to wait closer to the due date, if one is going to make any announcement at all.
My guess; word has gotten out somehow (HIPPA be damned when you are MAGA) , so Karoline decided to break the news herself and have fun with it.

She looks to be past the critical 3-month phase, so it's appropriate to announce it so that there will be at least a few White House Correspondents who will avoid bumping into her rudely or taking the best seat near the rest room on Air Force One until she chooses hers. Pregnancy makes expectant mamas pee a lot.
Word would get out in DC anyway, because critical employees need to tell their employer and make arrangements for covering their leave of absence or other employer expectations.

I'd have said 5 to 5-1/2 months, esp since it's a second pregnancy. (Mama shows earlier once the muscles have already been stretched before.)
I hope she avoids stress. But she seems to enjoy tangling with the fake news reps.
She is due in March. Congrats to her and her husband. This baby girl will be a joy.
