Having been on campus for 2 shootings, one the worst in US history, I am alarmed that people are so nonchalant about this mass school shooter being free.
“I am alarmed that people are so nonchalant about this mass school shooter being free.”
Free to strike again. I was similarly concerned.
I remember your harrowing posts from the Virginia Tech attack. It was frightening enough just waiting for each update you bravely shared the event in real time.
I don’t recall the other shooting.
MAYOR SMILEY: We want to inform the community that that individual will shortly be released from Providence Police. We know that this is likely to cause fresh anxiety for our community. Ever since the initial call, now a day and a half ago, we have not received any credible or specific threats to the Providence community. And so the status of safety in our community remains unchanged, and we believe that you remain safe in our community. The call came in for the shooting at 4:05pm on Saturday. It’s Monday morning, 10am ET, and there has not been a single credible or specific threat that we’ve received since that time. And so, just because of those facts, that’s why we believe it is safe and appropriate for residents in Providence to be sending their kids to school today and to be out in the community. There, there has been no follow up threat.
